Please don't take this as me being critical or what not..... but if a person wants to keep the sabbath, they must keep all the laws of the sabbath. Anything less would be hypocritical to say "I'm keeping God's sabbath", while you're only keeping the seventh day sabbath.

First of all, as you know, there was not only the "seventh day" Sabbath, but the first and last days of the seven Old Testament feasts were special Sabbaths, to be observed just as a seventh day Sabbath. (See Exodus 12:1-6; and 14-16 and Leviticus 23:1-8).
So, there were at least 64 "Sabbaths" in each calendar year. Many weeks had multiple "Sabbaths", one a seventh day Sabbath, the other a "Holy Convocation", the first or last day of a feast. Often, there were Sabbath days back to back - two days in a row. And. probably just as often, a Feast day Sabbath occurred the same day as the seventh day Sabbath.

http://www.biblestudymanuals.net/sabbaths.htm
So, instead of keeping these days...

Lev 23:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

Lev 23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

What would you have us keep? Xmas and Ishtar? Show me the scriptures that endorse these pagan holidays.

But the SAME KIND OF LEGALISM, forces people to THINK THEY HAVE TO KEEP TO SABBATH AND BE A VEGETARIAN TO BE RIGHT WITH GOD. I have a family member who is Seventh Day Adventists, so I have had numerous discussions outside this Website, and what I have observed is it is more for SHOW, than to please GOD.
This makes you an expert on the Sabbath?

What I was trying to get you to explain, is what you think that older English expression means when it says: "know we him no more"? My take on it is that it is an example of an older English expression, that has LOST it's understandability due to the English language evolving as time passes on. HENCE, I am very thankful for the Newer Translations when it comes to such an expression.

2 Corinthians 5:16 (HCSB)
16 From now on, then, we do not know anyone in a purely human way. Even if we have known Christ in a purely human way,yet now we no longer know ⌊Him in this way⌋.
Yes we now Him no more forever more after the flesh as an outward appearance, God has no form. never did never will .

There will be no fleshly Jesus as the Son of man seen ruling on this earth. We continue to walk by faith

The flesh of Jesus was Purely human, however the Spirit in Jesus was Purely GOD, whereas our human spirit was created in us by HIM.
Yes God is not a man and us and neither is there any daysman set between God and us. God refuses to be worshiped by that which is seen. It might give the illusion he does have a mother and father, beginning of days and end of Spirit life.

Jesus did not LEAVE HIS BODY behind when He ascended, however like our bodies will be after we are resurrected, that BODY was changed to a glorified body that no longer needs blood to have eternal life in it. As our High Priest, He would have carried His blood to Altar in Heaven and poured it out around the Base of that Altar, because the Earthly ALTAR was a mirror of what will take place at that Heavenly ALTAR.
What was used as a mirror was blood and spirit. God does not have blood.
as that seen. The temporal represents spirit life unseen, the eternal.

2Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Ezekiel 39:29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

Literal blood without the spirit has no life to offer. He poured our His spirit life as if it was blood. the literal blood was poured into the ground so that is could return from where it was taken for ,the dead rudiments of this world. His Spirit returned to the father.

It was a demonstration of an finished work as the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world, the actual unseen work..

Finally, you made the comment that there is no such thing as a spiritual body. Body is the NOUN, and Spiritual is but the Adjective. So Jesus certainly took HIS spiritual BODY with HIM to Heaven.
The spiritual body unseen . I did not say no spiritual body. What I did say was :No such things as spiritual flesh as if God had a form.

His Holy Spirit is the spiritual unseen body. He returned in the same way he came without form .

OH, just so you know, I don't just think I KNOW HIM, I KNOW I KNOW HIM, and I KNOW that my inner personal LOVE relationship with HIM will be with ME through out ETERNITY.

Amen, I never doubted you were not a believer.

The commandment does not speak of a sabbath=rest only, it specifically mentions a DAY which most certainly is 'time-sensitive !!!
mentioning one of the days does not make it a time sensitive word .
It means rest with no other meaning added. Any day we do hear his voice and not harden our heart we receive a rest/Sabbath from our own works.

And if ToDay (or any other day people claim) is the sabbath why did he speak of another day ?
Other than tomorrow, if Christ does not come first it will be To day, another To day. Is there any day we hear His voice and do not rest knowing he finished the work? There will be another day called To day right up until the last day.

For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.( Tomorrow.) There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb 4:8

When people hear His voice does not mean that day IS the sabbath - the voice is telling us WHEN it is !
Yes it only if they do not hareden their hearts, and make it a work they could do.

The day of rest or 7th Day SABBAT is still outstanding for God's people - they are not yet keeping it ! Could be some are not His people unless/until they repent. It is required of all people who want to enter His Kingdom !
Yes that is a day of rest. If a person hears God and does not harden their hearts they already entered His rest.

Time or a 24 hour period was fixed at creation - it can not be moved or erased - God's presence is in it. We ''share in God's holiness when we 'start by sharing His holy time/day and will eventually spread to 'all time....as we grow in Him.
Yes 24 hour will always be today every second of it. But it does not change the meaning of rest a non-time sensitive word.

The rest He gives is eternal .

What is your view on ceremonial laws ?

The sabbath under the New Covenant is ALL days of the week... not just one.

God made it better than it was before under the OT

Hebrews 4:9-11

There remain therefore a rest (sabbath) to the people of God.
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Living IN CHRIST is the sabbath under the New Covenant. We are to enter in to CHRIST permanently and rest IN HIM and cease from our own works, seeking to justify ourselves with offerings like the did under the Old Covenant.

Those that are Saturday seekers need to learn to enter into Christ and stop seeking to justify yourself by telling God what a good little boy you are by observing Saturday as the one day that is holy (set apart unto the Lord) in your week when you should be setting ALL days of the week as well as your entire life and all your possessions as being holy (set apart unto the Lord).

You Saturday seekers need to read Hebrews 10 and learn about the New Covenant (notice verse 9 - He takes away the first, that he may establish the second... speaking of taking away the Old Covenant so He could establish the New Covenant)

Did you fellas disavow the extra biblical teachings of Ellen White yet???
She's got some freaky deaky stuff, man
They are talking of the first tabernacle and Yeshua's Heavenly tabernacle. The promise of a "renewed" covenant of Messiah to come was far off for them however for example He gave them a shadow in ordinance and many washing ceremony and all carnal ways in approaching Elohim. What the Ordinance could not do was change the conscience or "heart" of man. So through Messiah he both fulfilled the ordinance of the sacrifice and the blood of the covenant with this He has brought all near finally to the covenants Elohim has made with man.

There where good works for men in Israel to do to cleanse their sin's. Remember
9:6 6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.

Their sin's where forgiven however this had to be repeated every year and again it didn't change the heart's of the people to YHWH.
You referred to the current covenant as new. It is not new! I really detest this teaching because it is leading people to understand in error that Yeshua Messiah the Son of YHWH Elohim has changed the commandments. He didn't He Filled them with the renewing spirit of life. When I agree with God I can not just follow the Father because the ordinance created to bring me near has already been finished however I can guard the commandments in my heart practice the Sabbath and rest as He does and there is now no condemnation in Messiah. If you have been born again you have found the truth and it has sat you free.
So He took away the first by fulfilling the ordinance. Because of this I don't and cannot approach Him through ordinance.

So I have explained the ordinance of the law which if practiced leads to death.

So what of the Sabbath? Is it an ordinance? No it's a commandment. When Hebrews mentioned Sabbath He was speaking to Hebrews who guarded the Sabbath. They also had "ordinance" which they did for Sabbath which was handed to them through the seat of Moshe,(Moses). They had to do it not to be saved mind you but because it came through the seat of the authority of YHWH Elohim they had to do it. This is why when Yeshua said anything they say do it. However if you are under the renewing covenant of Messiah Yeshua there is no longer any ordinance, Sabbath is made for Man and not Man for the Sabbath. So when Shaul writes
Hebrews 4:9-11
There remain therefore a rest (sabbath) to the people of God.
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

He is saying to put on the Sabbath it's made for you. Don't approach the Sabbath by ordinance of men see how to keep Sabbath from your Father in Heaven who is faithful to meet you if you meet Him where He told you He would be. He has given you gold, gems, silver, bronze, and many other things to build your faith with.
You shall put a cord of blue on the corner of your clothes. That does not say put a blue cord on the corner of your clothes the way some teacher says it should be. Should it be visible? Should it be long? Should it have three cords? Hear a good one.." If all my clothing is this specific blue do I still have to have this cord?" Yes. Why? Because it is written.
When you see it you are to be reminded to keep the commandments of Father. Praise Yeshua I can approach Elohim without offending Him and He delights in me but I am a sinner as you are yet I have Hope because of the Grace of God that is lavishly applied for my benefit when I seek understanding. Y'all may never allow yourselves to see because you're afraid to try because you will fail when you should be reminded that your sin has been forgiven. Tell me where am I condemned as you say for keeping the faith?

I wouldn't know what SDA do or don't do seeing I have no contact with them.
I keep the Sabbath because JESUS kept it - that's all I need to know, not what people tell me. JESUS is my example and for that it seems I am denounced by those who don't. What's new !?!
I was not referring to the time God wrote the commandments on stone but when He ACTUALLY SPOKE to the assembly Ex 20, and Deut 5 refers to. There was no 'to-ing and fro-ing with tablets of stone by Moses -- GOD personally interacted with people - but they would not hear...and so today there are those who will only hear Moses and are fixated on the tablets of stone rather than hear God in person.
So I'm not sure we are talking the same thing here.

THE CHURCH has a different Covenant then the Covenant between GOD and ISRAEL, therefore a Different Sign of the Covenant.

Exodus 31:12-13 (ESV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] And the LORD said to Moses,
[SUP]13 [/SUP] “You are to speak to the people of Israel and say, ‘Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the LORD, sanctify you.

Exodus 31:16-17 (ESV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever. [SUP]17 [/SUP] It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’”

Exodus 35:3 (HCSB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Do not light a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath day.”

Israel's average January temperature is 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

t t t
Luke 22:20 (NASB)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.

Hebrews 12:24 (NRSV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

Hebrews 7:22 (ESV)
[SUP]22 [/SUP] This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant.

Galatians 6:2 (HCSB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Romans 13:8-10 (NRSV)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet"; and any other commandment, are summed up in this word,
"
Love your neighbor as yourself."

[SUP]10 [/SUP] Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.

the lost century in history

as Edward Gibbon wrote in
The History of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire

"The scanty materials of ecclesiastical history seldom enable us to dispel
the cloud that hangs over the first age of the church .

Jesse Lyman Hurlbert in
The story of the christian church

the age just after the book of acts he calls "..the age of shadows.."

"of all the periods in the churches history, it is the one about which we know
the least about. For fifty years after St. Paul's life a curtain hangs over the church,
through which we strive vainly to look;

William McLaughlin in
The Course of Christian History

"But Christianity itself had been in the process of transformation as it progressed
and at the close of the period was in many respects quite different from the apostolic
Christianity."

Samuel G. Green in
A handbook of church History

"The thirty years which followed the close of the New Testement canon and the
destruction of Jerusalem, are in truth the most obscure in the history of the church.
When we emerge in the second century, we are to a great extent in a changed world."

William fitzgerald in
lectures on ecclesiastical History

"over this period of transition, which immediatly succeeds upon
the era properly called apostolic, great obscurity hangs."

Philip Schaff in
History of the Christian Church

"The remaining thirty years of the first century are involved in mysterious darkness,
illuminated only by the writings of John. This is a period of church history about which
we know least and would like to know most."

"Simon Magus unquestionably adulterated Christianity with pagon ideas and practices
and gave himself out for an emanation of God."

"This heresy in the second century spread over the whole church, east and west,
in the various schools of agnosticism."

-

--Satan was doing everything he could to destroy the Work of God, and in
little more than two decades, God’s people were turning to another gospel.

-this was the time of the Roman Empire , and in around 117 AD, at its greatest extent.
streched from Britian clear to modern day Turkey, and it ruled with the rod of iron.

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you
into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years
I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

What God calls together as one , the father of lies calls separate ,vise versa

Rather it is by the same spirit of faith according as it is written (Christ’s) that works in both the unbelieving gentile or unbelieving(no faith) Jew . No difference between them.

By a work of Christ's faith he purifies the heart of both. No difference between a Jew or a gentile. It is men that tries to make them different for some unknown reason or other as if God was a respecter of persons and flesh could profit. . .

Act 15:8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Same covenant of grace. The sign of the Covenant is in respect to a new spirit that will never die, giving the believer a desire to do the will of God as he works in us to both will and do His good pleasure.

Same faith of Christ seeing if any man has not the His Holy Spirit ( Christ) they do not belong to Christ.
Remember not all Israel is Israel as born again believers. Or all Jews are inward Jews, born again.

It boils down to ceremonial laws

How do you keep a ceremonial law as a shadow of the good thing to come, rest (Sabbath) in our new incorruptible bodies.

Can shadows work to provide the substance of salvation?

WRONG! It boils down to genuinely having an inner personal LOVE relationship with Jesus Christ.

Are you Jewish or Israeli?
If not, the Sabbath Commandment was a sign of the Covenant between GOD and Israel.
Paul often read from the scriptures on the sabbath (which is kept by the apostles 84
times in the book of Acts). And the only scriptures at that time was the old testament.

(Acts 17:2) As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue,
and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures.

the children of Israel -Who are Israelites ?
throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.

And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, Israel for
an everlasting covenant:1 Chronicles 16:17 Psalms 105:10

-the children of Israel , physical decendents of Abraham,
would spread around the world, be like sands of the sea shore,
or like the stars above in heaven- there still here on earth.

The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and [let my name]
be named on them, and [the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac];
and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth”

-you could be a physical decendent of Abraham and not even know it.

Are you A man ?

Mark 2:27
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man,

Are you A Jew in heart ?

Romans 2:29 (KJV)
But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart,
in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Are you A begotten Son of God ?

Romans 9:4
Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth [the adoption], and the glory, and the
covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and [the promises];

after Acts 13, Acts 26:7
Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come.
For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.

-here Paul says that his hope to come, is in the promises given to the twelve tribes.

It was first used in the mid 1500s. X is the Greek letter “chi,” the initial letter in the word Χριστός. And here’s the kicker: Χριστός means “Christ.” X has been an acceptable representation of the word “Christ” for hundreds of years. This device is known as a Christogram. The mas in Xmas is the Old English word for “mass.”

In ancient Israel, God’s people observed Passover by killing lambs and smearing blood
over their doorposts (read Exodus 12). God then passed over each house where the
blood was applied, sparing that household from death.

All this was only a type of “Christ our Passover,” as it says in 1 Corinthians 5:7.
Today, it is Christ’s shed blood that spares the life of a truly repentant Christian.

Jesus Christ only offered one sign: that, like Jonah (see Jonah 1:17),
He would remain in the grave for three days and three nights.

Ever since, mankind has struggled with second-grade math, trying to squeeze
three days and three nights into a barely 36-hour period between Friday
evening and Sunday morning.
