Calvinism is the belief that God alone determines which individuals will be saved and which will not, and these eternal choices were made before creation. Well, the logical conclusion to that belief, is that anyone God has decided is not worth the time, is destined for damnation.....the lake of fire originally created for the devil and his angels....BUT the good Calvinist would have us believe that God changed His mind and decided it would also be good to throw humans in there....the ones He has decided to overlook for whatever reason.

Those who believe this doctrine, will naturally begin to see themselves as superior because of .... well you know...the fact that they are heaven bound while most of humanity is going to roast.

When people of any group or doctrine consider themselves to be chosen by God, the natural order of thought will be that they also consider themselves superior. In fact privileged, while everyone else is marginalized. This results in aggression to those considered to be an afterthought, by God Himself if you don't mind....so why should the chosen give them the time of day. After all, it's God Himself who is sending them to hell.

I wonder how many people have been turned off believing in God when presented with such a God?

for that matter, I wonder why Calvinists even bother to post in forums....unless they are boasting of their position and wish to taunt the rest of us with their superior observations and deny anyone can choose Christ unless they are forced into following. So God trespasses against the will and forces people like some cosmic puppeter.

so then, it seems God must have forced Eve to eat whatever fruit she was not supposed to eat so let's stop blaming the snake

A spiritually dead person can Hear the Gospel and choose to believe or shut their ears like we see both cases in Acts.

That means once the Gospel is preached the ears are opened and you can choose to believe or reject.

That is 100% Bible Fact.
A dead person cannot hear they must be made spiritually alive first. The hearing is spiritual hearing which comes only from/with salvation.

1First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. 3This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

5For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6who gave Himself as a ransom for all—the testimony that was given at just the right time. I Timothy 2

Now that does not seem at all like a god who would determine who would be saved and who would not be saved.

Nope. That actually seems to be the God who has purpose to save all those who come to Him and who sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die in our place so that we might come to Him in faith and become a child of our heavenly Father.

Calvinism is a cruel and evil invention to create a gap between the Creator and his Creation. Well, sin did that but this same God who created all things and with whom nothing has been created that has been created, sent His only begotten Son to HEAL that rift....to become the One who bridges the gap between a sinner and God who is holy.

When we accept Christ, we become the righteousness of God IN Christ and we are no more called sinners, but sons and daughters of God.....and so much more!

These are the "all":

[Jhn 6:36-37, 39-40, 44 KJV]
36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. ...
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. ...
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Those who stoned Stephen to death heard and the Bible says they SHUT their ears.

So clearly your understanding of hearing is incorrect and ""does not"" match the Bible.

Well that's glorious salvation!

the all are all those who have accepted Christ

there is no limit unless a person limits themself by not accepting Christ but Romans 1 indicates that people have no excuse because God has made Himself known through creation itself

all in all, that indicates anyone who puts their faith in their Creator :giggle:

They didn't hear it with spiritual ears because they weren't Christ's sheep.

[Jhn 10:26-28 KJV]
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.

No. It is all who are given by the Father to Christ. Because of that, they come to believe, not the reverse.

Christ's sheep only hear AFTER being Saved.

Once again you are making things up that do not align with the Bible.

do you know the Bible never has a thing to say about hearing with spiritual ears? that is a made up sentiment of those who wish to create their own god who is not the God of the Bible who says ALL are welcome

now to be sure, the Bible has plenty to say about the Holy Spirit but we can only walk 'in the spirit' when we are attuned to that walk and have determined to have our minds renewed by scripture and to agree with God and what He says in His word

Oh my. You really are entrenched in Calvinism and that has not been of any help regarding what scripture actually states.

Cherry picking verses and slanting them to agree with wrong doctrine just results in non-spiritual ears even if a person is saved

He makes up titles just like him using 5 doctrines of Grace.
Grace is Grace like Mercy is Mercy, Love is Love, Hate is Hate, etc...
But his doctrine has man made everything into a logistics which we see NOWHERE done in the Bible.

Now he is saying spiritual hearing non spiritual hearing and none of that exists anywhere in the Bible.

Wait! So, you are agreeing with me? That someone has to first be saved in order to hear but not until then?
So, salvation and hearing aren't dependent upon the person but God.

My story? I was saved by God and not by me.

Yeah....? And....? How did it happen? Don't tell me you don't have a salvation testimony of how Jesus saved you. EVERY Christian has a salvation testimony. Every REAL Christian anyway.

I can't find Calvin's name anywhere in the Bible either....but do a search of the forums for Calvinism and that name will appear more than the name of Jesus

It is alarming actually. It about makes me wonder if Calvins' doctrine was not meant to suplant our actual Savior

I agree the sheep only HEAR Jesus after being saved.

But hearing the Gospel preached by men to people to choose if you accept or reject is not what this verse claims at all.

So it's different.

Nope, no testimony other than my belief in Christ as Saviour grew over time, and when I say Saviour, I mean Saviour in all ways,
fully and completely, with no assistance provided by me. But that belief came from salvation, it did not bring me salvation.

The funny thing is that one poster who got banned was posting those meme's about Calvin and it shows the Reformed aren't even obeying Calvin at all. So they claim Calvin but are saying Calvin promoted things he actually never did.

Your own verse says Jesus tells them they are not sheep because...26 ye believe not

You need to first believe before you can hear Jesus voice.

When we get saved hearing the Gospel it's the Holy Spirit.
After being saved we hear Jesus.
