...and it is not to save a man's soul from eternal death and Hell. Only the Blood of Jesus can do this. Nothing else. It is time you stop trying to undermine and detract and distract from the Atonement.

You have been warned more times than you deserve to be. You may have crossed line from being a victim to being a blaspheming apostate who is leading others astray. You may soon become banned if you continue to undermine and spread confusion about the core essence of our Salvation. Do not fear me, but fear Him whose Atonement and Gift you dishonor and seek to minimize and detract and distract from.

Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

I understand what you mean by remembrance....much ado about nothing

anything to take the heat off themselves

there are at least three here who just keep on saying the blood of Christ is not enough

that's a whole other gospel there and it is not THE gospel and they preach another Jesus and not God's Son

Pretty interesting that you should be so offended when all that was done was to point out your very own posts on the topic.
absurd

your friend there is better at fudging the truth than are you

Those who believe in Jesus will be saved through their obedience to His commands. Notice Hebrews expresses that Jesus is the author of eternal salvation unto all those who obey Him.

"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" Heb 5:9

we are not saved through any commands

if that is what you believe, you may not be saved

we are only saved through the blood of Christ

what is the obedience? to believe Christ died for the remission of our sins...that is salvation

we follow with baptism to show our life is now IN Him

you apparently do not understand this, but you are persuaded by the cultic teachings of Oneness Pentecostalism

Answer me this someone.

How can there be so many distorted views on following God?

Believers believe in one God with three separate distinct personalities and functions.
At Jesus baptism God the father spoke from heaven saying " this is my beloved son" Jesus born of flesh and Spirit is the lamb that taketh away the sins of the world, and the Holy Spirit as a dove lit on Jesus in acknowledgement.

The word of God isn't unfathomable. The Holy Ghost will lead if YOU will follow.
There is NO reason except following man's words and theriores instead of God's word!

It is a shame that FEW there be that find the way as many biblical linguistic interpretations are available and most CAN read!

Obedience IS NOT only on one point but to obey the WHOLE WORD OF GOD is pleasing.
Jesus is the word and the word was with the Father and the Holy Spirit at creation.

Since you believe Jesus only pentacostal, how do you reconcile the Holy Ghost entering into a person's being with evidence of tongues?
That's three distinct parts!

Furthermore how can anyone be so stopped at water baptism and miss ALL the commandments?

If all one has is Jesus ONLY what assurance of God do you have of his fullness in your life?

Not sure I grasped your meaning or overall intent. Would you condense to
a single sentence or two? Thanks. I did read some on the links you provided.

Love in Jesus,
Kelby
Precious Kelby, thanks for your request, and Also For "reading some on
the links." Most by now would have called them heresy. I will try to:

Summarize (condense) the previous summary, like this:

God Has TWO Different programs:
1) prophecy/law requires water baptism for the remission of sins!

2) Mystery/GRACE has NO water baptism At All; God's ONE Baptism
Being "BY" HIS ONE Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:5; 1 Corinthians 12:13)

Amen?

"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" Heb 5:9

obey Christ is living for Him...it is not the 10 commandments or other parts of the law

you want to make it all about baptism....look at the title of your op...saved by water...nope

walk in the spirit would be obedience to Christ...in other words, renew your mind by the word and do not walk after the world

you probably have something else in mind, but I don't follow cults

we are free in Christ...consult a Bible for that...free to be enslaved again to follow all kings of manmade traditions and rules that Jesus came to set us free from

you might know this if you actually believed that we are saved only by Jesus blood and not ritual bathing or Jesus name only or baptizing in water. we should be baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ.

Well........ well........ well.

So it has come down to this, Mister Kelby.

Really scraping the bottom of the barrel now.

The last resort; Trying to divide the perceived enemy.

Daniel
5:24 Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
5:25 And this [is] the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
5:26 This [is] the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
5:27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

Goodbye, Mister Kelby.
Not trying to divide the enemy. @FreeGrace2 said "no one says that baptism is for remembrance" as if my comment was not answering a real doctrine. Quoting what you'd said was the simplest way of showing my comment to be a valid response to an existing doctrine (held by the person it was addressing).

Notice I had not added any kind of personal attack or slander. I just presented direct quotes as evidence to be considered.

I included the @[you] in case you wanted to add anything or point out that I'd only included part of the original posting, etc

That's just polite, not "scraping the bottom of the barrel"

Love in Jesus,
Kelby

Have you ever considered that water baptism is only effective towards remission of sins BECAUSE of the atonement made by the blood of Jesus? That's why water baptism works for the remission of sins. It's not excluding, detracting or distracting from the blood of Jesus. It's RELYING on it.

That was important enough that I'll repost it for all to consider. (plus it saves me re-writing it for @FreeGrace2 and @SophieT )

They have placed their faith in something that cannot save. You will be held accountable in the end. Even if you do not care about their eternal destiny, you should consider you own.
There is a specific, conditional promise in holy scripture regarding baptism in Jesus' Name, that if you receive the ordinance, you will receive remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Now, why do you not believe in that promise? And why do you attempt to discourage others from believing in it?

My eternal destiny is secure; I have both the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost; as promised in holy scripture (Acts 2:38-39).

I have rightly judged that your view that water baptism saves is unbiblical.
This is something that you have wrongly judged.

I never said that.
You implied it.

The promise was directed at Jews and Gentiles who were present.
It was directed to those who were present, and to their children, and to all that were afar off.

Unless you want to blot Acts 2:39 out of your Bible, stop purporting this lie!

You weren't there. It does NOT apply to anyone who did not see the miracles of Jesus and participate in His crucifixion.
See above. I refer you to Ats 2:39.

You are not going to succeed at purporting this lie. The scriptures specifically refute it (Acts 2:39).

Really? Sin? Is that possible? Is contradiction possible with God?

And separate, as this notes.

Praying to oneself is irrational and mentioning 2 different wills involved.

You have no grounds for your beliefs.
I think that we may have to agree to disagree. I don't believe that I am going to be able to convince you of my point of view; and you are not going to convince me of yours by calling God irrational; but you will be held accountable for insulting Him on your day of judgment.

I would suggest asking the Lord to show you how these contradictions in your mind can be reconciled by the Holy Spirit. Ask Him; seek the truth from Him; and knock on the door of His kingdom for the answer.

Actually, sanctification is a life long process. It would begin with baptism. But that's not the end or completion of it.
It can be completed in a moment of time (1 Corinthians 6:11, 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (kjv)).

FreeGrace2 said:
Why would you think that Nicodemus would think of Christian baptism when Acts 2:38 hadn't even occurred yet.

Neither were performing "Christian baptism".

You seem totally unaware of these disciples:

Acts 19-
1 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples
2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied.
4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

This proves that John's baptism is NOT Christian baptism.

Proving my point about Nicodemus.
John's baptism prepared the hearts of the people for the coming of Christ. See Luke 7:29-30.

Can a person be saved apart from water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth for the remission of sins? Perhaps.

I will say only that there is a conditional promise that is given to as many as the Lord our God shall call...

(found in Acts 2:38-39).

Those who were never called were never predestinated and will not be justified or glorified (Romans 8:3).

No.

Baptism is part of the soul cleansing process required to obtain forgiveness of our sins.
Okay. Playing the devil's advocate here for a second (because I am in agreement with you)...

What do you make of the following?

Act 10:43, To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
