Yes I sensed that too. My mom always says make sure, because the enemy can deceive you. So when I read the Word I always ask for discernment, understanding and wisdom. The Holy Spirit hs been letting me understand a lot. I just pray I continue to grow in Christ

It’s my husbands church, I went with him when we dated but officially went ther once we were married.

I agree, my question would be. How do I know what special talent God has given me? I work in the health care field taking care of patients. I feel I want to do more, I’m not a bible scholar or a teacher.
Ah, ye ole hubby's church. That's different. Leaving is one of those things that needs to be negotiated in marriage. (LOL I really have been telling you how much talking is needed in marriage, haven't I? It just keeps happening. lol) But which church is always under submit for wives. Ultimately, his decision, but not without hearing from us.

I really can't tell you what your talents are. That's one of those "when I see it, I'll know it" things, and since I can't see you in every day world, I can't see when you hit upon one that just fits you.

But I can guess one by the job you chose to do. Nursing? Yeesh! Not my talent at all. (Thank you, Lord, for variety in talents.) But, I suspect you'd be good at mercy ministry. You really are compassionate. (Have to be to stay a nurse for more than a week. Plus, I see that on here.)

And, don't sell yourself short on teaching either. You're Mom, right? It comes with the job description. I don't know if you have the office of teacher, but you probably have the gift of teaching. Have you ever convinced your kids to act right through your words? If you have, that's the kernel of gifted in that. It might not be your 10,000 talent ministry, but it might be your 2,000 talent ministry.

Ok, last night I went to bible study and the pastor read the parable of the Talents Matthew 25: 14-30. While he read and said this meant we should invest our money and has a speaker on money investment. This didn’t sit right with me and I didn’t understand the scripture to mean this but deeper. Can you all explain This parable? I always ask the Lord for discernment for scriptures and for wisdom.
The Parable of the Talents is about investing any and all resources (money, time, talents, spiritual gifts) in and for the Kingdom of God, since we will ultimately give account to Christ. So that was an obvious misapplication of the parable.

However, this does not mean that God does not want Christians to make wise investments for themselves and their families for financial stability, education, retirement, etc. The book of Proverbs teaches us that we are to be diligent in both our business and our investments.

Health care is a very important job because you care for people and that allows you to show God's love to many people

Yes! He loves his church, and his mom and some family members go there too. You do tell me about the talking but it’s a good thing I love advice it helps me truly! Lol you helped me talk more too him about things actually!

Yes I use to work nursing homes.. then adult daycare.. now in a hospital and doctor office I they have me rotate. I love it truly! You meT a lot of great people. Sometimes the blood needles all go that stuff is a lot but I love it! Just like when they asked me to work in pediatric oncology I couldn’t and still can’t do it... it bothers me too much to tears. Thanks for the compliment to God be the glory.

Yes I’m a mom. It’s sooo hard at times I can be honest I don’t hve the best patience they only have listen to me(which I think all 1 and 2 year olds do lol) still is a blessing.

I believe the parable of the talents, and nearly if not all other parables, to be about faith. If you think about it, monetary systems require faith, not so much in the talent or coin or paper in itself but that its values are honored by those using it as a method of exchange. Money works much like blood, referred to in terms such as currency and cash flow, and is life sustaining, i.e. called bread or dough, and behaves similarly. If you have much blood, you can afford to spend some as the body just makes more, but if you have little, the risks of the worst case scenario happening become greater.

I think this parable is teaching that faith works similarly, but with emphasis in conclusion that the one talent had been sufficient to gain interest, or value added if the man had regarded its (potential) value rather the too insignificant as far as to 'assume' its future value is loss. I think it is worth noting that it turned out as he expected as the talent he had was taken and given to the man with 10, so he really wasn't so worried about that. However, what he might not have even considered and should have been more worried about was that he was also 'fired', which reason may have been more for the lack of faith (to present it as a valued commodity) than for the lack of return.

Thanks for your reply as well. I didn’t look at it that way thanks for giving me another perspective on the parable!
