Again, it is the difference between what is man's intellect or knowledge of the Word .. and God's wisdom. Because man can study and study the Word and come up with their own interpretations.......... technically they KNOW the Word... and yet they don't... because they know it their own way...

Simply KNOWING is not having revelation from God........ otherwise, God would not have hidden it from the wise and prudent and revealed unto babes..

So... do we need to study and study the Word to be more knowledgeable than the next person? They may be able to quote scripture for scripture and what benefit will it be to them, if they don't really understand what God is saying in those scriptures? Or if they have no revelation from God? Or if they have no personal experience of who He is?

There is always a balance... but just to say you know the scriptures does not mean you know God.

Never study to simply know more that the next person. Always let the goal of any study be to "show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15.

Yes true I believe that you should know enough Word to be able to rightly divide Truth and what is not.. yet knowing the Word from cover to cover does not mean you have the right understanding of it... as is indicated by the so many different denominations and interpretations from the one Bible.. and it is not merely enough to say "Well then they mustn't have read / studied the whole thing"... when many know every scripture in there... and can quote word for word and they do that through studying... but they parted the pages, and looked with their eyes and read with their minds, and still cannot see what God is saying... He revealeth Himself to whosoever He will
