Who are we? Are we all the same, or not? A sinner is a person who commits sinn, but does that mean that the sinner is sin?
Are who you are necessarily what you do?

Everyone is either an adopted child of God, or a potential adopted child of God. Everyone does sin. Everyone can be part of the Body of Christ. And every child of God can do whatever God sends them to do inspite of having done sin.

Your conduct identifies who you are. An apple tree will produce apples and an orange tree will produce oranges. Your manifest deeds are an indication of the condition at the root of your being.

You are a slave to whom you obey.

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Thus a child of the devil does this...

1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Yet there is good news for we can forsake one master and yield to another...

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Whereby...

1Jn 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1Jn 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

I recommend reading the Gospel of John from start to finish slowly and carefully reflecting on every single thing Jesus teaches. I then recommend to read the book of Romans from the start to finish and very carefully reflect on what is written.

While doing this seek God diligently with all your heart and mind (ie. make it a priority in your life) and everything will work out.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We are all human beings created in God's image (Gen 1:27), not physically, but having the ability to express emotions, having a will, etc. Man was created for God's glory (Isaiah 43:7) however man fell and humanity became separated from the righteous God but Jesus' sacrifice paved the way for us to be reconciled to God (Rom 5:8-10).

Are we all the same, or not?
We are all equal in God's eyes (Rom 2:11) just as the song goes "Jesus loves [and died for] the little children, all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white..." LOL:). However we are not all the same spiritually. There are some who have not come to the saving faith, those are unbelievers, and then those who are adopted as children of God are believers. The fate of unbelievers is eternal condemnation in the Lake of fire while believers, eternal life with God (John 3:15-18, Mark 16:16).

As a side note, all believers are not necessarily at the same level. Some are new to the faith and others are more mature.

A sinner is a person who commits sinn, but does that mean that the sinner is sin?
I wouldn't say the physical body in itself is a sin. With the idea original sin, even though we are born with the tendency to sin (Psalms 51:5, Eph 2:3) this does not excuse sin. One needs to be born again when they reach an age where they are accountable to God for their sins.

Are who you are necessarily what you do?
The bible says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matt 12:34, Luke 6:45). A good tree cannot bear bad fruit.
1 John 3:7-8
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Hopefully this thread does not erupt like a violent volcano...LOL

A person sins because by nature he is a sinner (since the fall).
A person who has received the new birth has received a new nature and it is in that new nature a person lives righteously.

We are the masterpiece of God, the pinnacle of His creations. We are the same and we are not. We all have the same potential. But we have no hope of reaching that potential if we don't ever live for The Lord. A sinner is a person that sins, but a Christian has a dual nature and lives to walk out of that false nature hand in hand with Jesus. A person is not their sin.

Who am I? A child of God saved by grace living under the constant flow of daily grace because like every other Christian I am working with The Lord to walk out if my old nature.

When we accept Jesus as our savior, we become different from all other humans. We are now in the family of God, we are one of God's children. He is our father, we are in a different family.

In that family, each is an individual. Each has a different destiny, a different work to do, each a different fingerprint. Yet each is the same as each is a child of God. It is a great responsibility, and a great blessing.

We are humans, a creation of The Lord our Father. A soul within a body.

We are all the same but we have different talents, a community of hearts that is meant to work together in One Understanding.

A sinner is someone who does something against The Lords will, basically something bad, negative, useless that interferes with the righteousness of another person.

A sinner is sin if he or she acts for the purpose of sin (a servant of satan), but if a person acts in sin and does this without intention (wisdom of the bible you come to realize what is sin) and seeks forgiveness (acceptance that Jesus is our savior and the only through Him can we see The Father and living a Christian life asking forgiveness in all trespasses) then that person is not sin.

We cannot serve 2 masters. Either you are sin or you are reborn. Who you are depends on what you decide to do. As a Christian you seek to be like Christ. The Bible is The Living Word of God it is there to answer all the questions that humans have. If you don't see the answer then you ask in prayer. Pray without ceasing. The Lord provides answers for all those who seek Him. If we on CC don't satisfy your desire for knowledge The Lord Himself will answer all that you need.
