Who are we? Are we all the same, or not? A sinner is a person who commits sinn, but does that mean that the sinner is sin?
Are who you are necessarily what you do?
Your conduct identifies who you are. An apple tree will produce apples and an orange tree will produce oranges. Your manifest deeds are an indication of the condition at the root of your being.
You are a slave to whom you obey.
Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Thus a child of the devil does this...
1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Yet there is good news for we can forsake one master and yield to another...
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but
the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but
ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

1Jn 3:6
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you:
he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:9
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1Jn 3:10
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1Jn 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
I recommend reading the Gospel of John from start to finish slowly and carefully reflecting on every single thing Jesus teaches. I then recommend to read the book of Romans from the start to finish and very carefully reflect on what is written.
While doing this seek God diligently with all your heart and mind (ie. make it a priority in your life) and everything will work out.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that
he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
