1 Corinthians 3
But I, brothers,[SUP]a[/SUP] could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. 2I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, 3for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? 4For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human? 5What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. 6I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 8He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. 9For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

The truth?

That depends on which denomination you ask that question to.

I hope that we all can agree that the Bible is 100% truth though.

Hi. Marano, I would ask you this question. Does truth exist? And if trust exist do you think God could safegaurd His truth from the time of Adam until today?

You know what's sad about those verses, is there is a group of people out there that say if you are not a Jew you should not follow Jesus, but you should follow Paul. If you do follow Jesus why do they all still have both eyes, both arms and both legs, since Jesus said off one offends you plunk it out or cut it off.

Yup you guessed it they are also the "if the King James was good enough for the apostle Paul it's good enough for me!"

The bible is the truth and it's the way God has preserved it until today as I believe.

I think the answer do not lay in any denominations. You must study the bible there is were truth is found. I had the same question a few years back. God, the Holy spirit(The spirit of God) is only one which can convince of truth. Peter said of the writings of Paul, that he wrote difficult things to understand and the unlearned men twist the scriptures for their destruction.

Amen. I agree. I prayed for many years for wisdom and understanding. I came to point where I gave up on the scriptures, because I follow many preachers and teachers and some was to shallow for me or when they sounded very rooted in scriptures, they weren't teaching what the bible actually taught. They avoided teaching from the prophetic books of Daniel and Revelation. Yet, God answered my prayers. Today I feel as though my faith has found a resting place.

You know, on this topic, I have also come across people who say we are (as Gentiles) to follow Paul, because Jesus was sent only to the Jews. Well the other night I prayed about this (in my Spirit I knew that to follow the commands of Jesus will ALWAYS be true), and I asked the Lord to show me the scriptures which would confound this false teaching. The very next day I was shown the following verses in Matthew 28 v18-20 And Jesus came to them (Jewish Disciples) and spoke to them saying "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations (not just the Jewish nation, but all nations including the Gentile nations), baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you (all things Jesus has commanded - he is at this point not referring to Paul, but establishing that Jesus' word and teachings can also be taught to the Gentiles), and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Everyone knows that the only true denomination is the one that "I and my group are in"...c'mon...get with the program. Don't you love truth and the word of God?.....or are you one of those lovers of sinning and have those "itching ears"?.....

1. There are quite few denominations.

2. There are many names of churches, but they all fall into lets say 5 basic denominations with very minor differences, so it makes in fact no diff if you will go to baptists or to methodists, just names.

I don't believe you are wrong to do that, but just take note of 1 Cor 3 above, and not lose perspective about it. The trouble comes when 'man' creates a idol of 'their own' denomination. Then its a short step to criticising other denominations, etc. And I believe Jesus wants us to be in unity (Ephesians 4 v11-16) and lays out in these passages in Ephesians what will be required to achieve this.

The other trouble with denominations in general is that they follow a "Babylonian system" of traditional hierarchy. Jesus says if you want to be the greatest you must be willing to serve your brethren, not Lord it over them. And we see a lot of "Lording it Over" in the church system.

Just be aware of this. Don't throw the baby out with the bath-water so to speak. Be the change.

Other than general ideas about what one teaches based upon their flavor of denomination........the truth of God and what is teaches about salvation, immersion, and the Lord's church will easily separate the fluff from the true......

The best denomination and only denomination is surrender to Jesus on the Cross.
Only God is infallible and nothing else is, so that's the truth...if we have God, well
we just don't need anything else...if we don't have God then it doesn't matter what
else we have.
