“Thy Kingdom come…”

Yeshua instructs his followers to pray for and anticipate his father’s kingdom, the Kingdom of God. This is the ultimate manifestation of God’s will for his people. The Kingdom of Heaven that we have so earnestly strived for and nearly completed, will pass. The Millennial Kingdom of Christ’s reign will bring peace, justice, and truth for a time. We are here told to pray for the final Kingdom when a new heaven and a new earth descend and we dwell in the very presence of God.

“Thy will be done…”

Recall, Yeshua is teaching his disciples to pray to his Father. These words encourage us to pray for the completion of the Father’s will. This requires us to submit. We acknowledge that He is greater than us and that his will replaces our own. This simple statement reaffirms our relationship with God Almighty.

“On Earth as it is in Heaven.”

We now affirm God’s dominion over all creation. We plead for His intercession in our human attempts to create the Kingdom of Heaven. This task began with the announcements of John and the beginning of Christ’s earthly mission. It will conclude upon his return. From the beginning the Kingdom of Heaven has advanced haltingly; and solely through the intervention of our Lord through the Holy Spirit. Yeshua’s people have worked tirelessly through the centuries. Churches have been established worldwide, hospitals built, people fed and clothed, prisoners set free, the blind given sight, the broken healed and his love planted in the hearts of men. Many believe our task nears completion. Here we acknowledge our continued need for His intervention.

His blessings, compassion, grace, love & mercy are perfect & endless. our God has to be all that or He isn't God! anything less than perfect is not or never our God. He is perfectly, endlessly loving, forgiving & long-suffering. if mankind existed without God, we would have killed ourselves off the face of the earth centuries ago.
