Musicians and artists seem to have such "pretty gifting".
Expressive.
Same with writers.

I have a coffee buddy that envies my auto repair gifting.(daily i seek to get into something else. Something that actually pays money. Real estate or something)
But he himself says he has no talent.
It kinda stings when he says it because i do not see him that way.
He is a weight lifter.
He is 80 yrs old. He looks pretty good. No body fat.
I flow with him pretty good, and he is mesmerized by the vids i show him on my phone. Mainly funny stuff.
What would you tell him, when he says he has no gifting?
Is it just perception?

what would I tell him?

what would I tell him?

I don't consider the art a spiritual gift....it's a part of me rather than something I 'do'. I am what people would call a 'creative'

I figure that is part of the nature of God...to create. I live and breath it.

80 years old. honestly, I would pray with him and ditch the negativity...and maybe teach him to say aloud positive scripture regarding who he is in Christ. quite a list when you look into it.

I guess I would have to be around someone to recognize what is going on better. but you are, so maybe suggest some positive scripture and stop saying negative things about his walk

hope that makes a little sense?

I love listening to the older generation tell their stories. A life time of experiences.
I love listening to the war veterans tell their stories.
That culture is almost gone. Almost over.
For some reason,my brain locks up when he says " i have no talent". I want to say something like "yes you do george,...." but I dont see any talent, nor do I need to. Its just my heart goes out to him. He is totally alone. Lives by himself.

well I always want to help but honestly, you cannot help some people

not necessairly saying that about your friend, but sometimes you just have to let it go

although since you know him, you might try to probe deeper

the world has become more selfish than ever and more silent with all the noise because the noise is just noise
