talking of pushing buttons.
My aunt who I look after got in a bit of a tizzy a while back. she has a pendant to wear
so if she was to fall she can press it and it automatically connects to a telephone service
to call for assistance. We also have smoke alarms in the house linked to the same service.
A while back I was just about to get a shower when the smoke alarm sensor fell
off the ceiling. I picked it up, it has a large red button on the side for testing.
I told her not to touch it, put it on a cupboard and went to get a shower.
Im in the shower all lathered up, next thing I hear is the phone intercom going and
a voice asking if we need the fire brigade!
I grabbed a towel shot out of the bathroom shampoo still in my eyes and shot downstairs
to explain there was no fire!
The woman said "oh but we most send the fire brigade your smoke alarm has just gone
off!" I had to beg her not to send them out, the last thing I wanted was
10 burly fireman charging into the house with me practically in the buff!
Anyway I managed to convince them it was a false alarm, finished the conversation
then said to me Aunt - you touched it didn't you.
"Yes" she replied rather apologetically!
