I just finished the first eye. What's with the needle? It was an eight minute operation, and I never even knew it happened. Admittedly, the tons of eye drops have been a bit of a hassle...... but I am typing this with no glasses.
Just finished brushing my teeth, I should really go to bed now.Lol
Not sure what the procedure is like in the U.S. But my aunt has all sorts of mobility
issues, plus she had a nasty fall last year and dislocated her right shoulder, she still has
not got the full use of it back so she has not been able to reach up to put the drops
in her right eye. Plus she has other medical needs and is also diabetic.
Anyway it it took about 20 mins for them to do the surgery on her. The cataract was
pretty bad she was virtually blind in that eye. She should have had it done last year but the
fall meant she was not fit for surgery. So when they did get around to doing it there was
a lot of scraping away of the cataract to be done.
As far as I can tell, they put in drops to numb the eye, then inject a local anaesthetic
to numb it completely before carrying out the procedure.
This was her second eye they have done.
She can't use her reading glasses either at the moment.
Hope it all heals up for you Willie.
