.......can't really say that I enjoyed the experience all that much?

It's overrated. :p

So you're the reason the pool is still chilly??????
I assure you had I the opportunity to tamper with the temperature I would have done so however the accusatory nature of your question is without merit and I declare my innocence. Oh, by the way, by my calculations you actually went for a swim while it was still winter.

Congrats on your new grandchild! So exciting to welcome another family member! I was just reading a very interesting book about individualism and one thing it said was the Biblical model for living is the 3G family. No, not the internet, but three generations.

I like it, because it shows that grandparents are SO important in the task of raising children.

And if you don't believe it is Biblical, just look at the begats everywhere in the Bible. That's because the family unit was not just parents and children, but grandparents, parents and children!

Hey Ellie - Go granny go!

To whomever this may concern:

I decided to go on a diet today, need to lose all this prednisone weight I've been piling up!

So no more mentioning chocolate, ok??

Only carrots and low calorie food allowed!

I know, that's the way to take all the fun out of this thread. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it!

Can we pull all the calories out of chocolate? Then you don't have to diet.

It is called "Sex and the Iworld" by Dale S. Kuehne. The first part is about the traditional family model, which has been abandoned in the Western world, the second part about what has replaced it - the Iworld, or the world of individualism and how Nietzsche and his philophy of nilhilism has replaced traditional values.

The author examines the philosophical basis of these world views, but then moves onto the Rworld, which is about relationships. He has some very strong points about the Biblical basis of relationships, including God (the Trinity) and of course Jesus Christ. He is against legalism, and totally believes relationship is what Christianity and the Bible is all about. Especially restoring right relationships through Christ.

It sounds complex, but it is totally readable. I've been quite captivated and stimulated by the book's premises.

Here is a sample.
