Kodiak.....I was sitting up front with the choir in church one time and smoke started coming in from the floor registers.... My father-in-law who was the preacher said Well it's the first time I preached until the church got on fire....we laughed as someone went and checked it out... come to find out some kids got a hold of the plastic birthday cake they used to sing Happy Birthday to the kids and thought it would be a good idea to light the plastic candles.... and we know the rest of the story.... no damage except to the plastic cake and a couple of scared kids....
Hmmmmm maybe they should have been in church sitting with their parents.....Parents do you know where your children are???

I can't believe I lived this long. So many many many many close calls and lost friends pushing up daisies but here I sit like a rooster on a porch welcoming another day. Keep your heads up. Oh yeah, and coffee is GOOD! 
Oh well... guess it's time for me to wake up and smell the coffee and put away my favorite fire engine red bell bottoms. *sigh*

my closest friend as a child was Barbie. (yeah....she and the doll were both born in '59 )
Barb lost her dad when we were 8, and her mom remained a widow.
but when Diane needed to clean and preferred to read a book, she'd put on an apron,
put the vacuum in the middle of the living room, place a dustrag on the coffee table,
sit on the sofa, and read.
that way, if anyone came to the door, it looked like she was cleaning.
