Lady Blue, Spinach is "a powerhouse of nutrition. It's full of antioxidants that encourage the production of white blood cells, strengthens the immune system and fights viruses and bacteria. It also protects the enzymes that repair DNA damage, helping your body heal itself." I live on spinach practically. I have fair skin and do not even need sunscreen when I'm out in the sun because of the dark green vegetables and carotenoids that protect the skin from UV damage. Also, our bodies need vitamin D from the sun and these vegetables help us to absorb the healthy effects from sunshine. (Most sunscreens have seriously dangerous chemicals in them.)
