It builds character.......

A writer in a newspaper here once said were it not for winter we would be overrun with zucchini.

We had to put down our girl this morning. She was with us for 12 years and she will be missed.

Gandy is smiling with a tear this morning of all the fond and fun memories of this loyal creature :giggle:.

Sorry to hear that Gandy. May you and Mrs Gandy have peace.
We have thank you Ruby. The vet confirmed our suspicions that she was not well anymore. She had cancer in her eyes and ears and as a result was going deaf and blind. It was time but it is never easy to say goodbye to a friend...

When we bought her, we never knew that she had a very good bloodline (God's blessing for sure). Every time she had pupps it was what the breeders refer to as a "fullhouse" meaning she had all the colors in her litter. The lady where we bought our male from was breeding for years and she never had one fullhouse. We had it 4 times before we fixed her :) but now I am bragging... but I don't know if it is a sin if a parent is proud of their child :).

let me whisper this to ya p- maybe those of us who live in the south should not complain toooo loudly against winter......

i mean, in north ga. right now, it is 30, getting up to 53 today.

i am sure that those who read this who are in northern climates would love have 30 and 50 today...

but, that being said, that was a good one you did.....

Gandy- some say not, but I believe our God loves so much we will be reunited with ALL those we loved and were loved by, no matter how many feet they had.
Was there a special way she interacted with you? He may allow her to contact you this way from the other side of the veil. A wrinkled place on a bed or a couch that has been laid on, a cold nose touching, He loves us very much and we know the veil is getting thinner the closer we come to fulfillment.

praying for your comfort in Jesus name.

Whether we huddle up inside with the Lord, or get outside with the Lord, all things are with the Lord.

went out to Post office yesterday, substitute mail lady and I had a wonderful time of sharing the Lord, Holy Spirit manifested several times as I was sharing how to experience the love of Christ. This was new to her, so many hold to an outward form of Godliness and don't experience him as we were created to do. Had other wonderful acts of sharing his love and goodness via this internet, the harvest is plentiful, the fields white and ripe for harvest, the workers are few.
Bless you all

Hey GG, don't you have kiddos that would be overjoyed to help?
yup! At least they were the first few times when there was almost nothing to shovel. THEN we had the big 12 inch deep stuff and they found out what it REALLY means to shovel out the drive.
Now they have all sorts of cool forts and snow slides all over the back yard.......
to bad I can't go play with them :(
they didn't shovel out the walk way to get to the back yard, but rather dug snow tunnels. It's pretty cool, I just dont want to get down and crawl on my hands and knees through all that. Not gonna make myself any colder than I have to

Kids have metabolic rates like little birds. I am thinking it would be cool to set a pattern of boxes out in the yard to be covered in these deep snows, kind of ready made snow forts and tunnels.
Have you tried withholding food till the shoveling is done? (lol)
That was done on the farm with "get the chores done and then come in and we will have breakfast"
Bless you this day and going forward.

sadly the days of "no school" and "snow days" are gone around here.........
( I got tired of typing out the novel and deleted it, so here's the readers digest version)

our school district is now equipped to go virtual at anytime ( supposedly in the even that something happens to shut places down like covid did last year) Apparently the district has decided that the kids missed to much school from last year and should not miss anymore........
While Dr offices and therapy centers etc were closed the first SERIOUS snow day we had, the school district decided that ONE DAY was not acceptable to miss now and even though the school buildings physically were not open and the buses were not operating, they still had school that day via virtual........
The district wouldn't even let these kiddos have a SNOW DAY!!!!
