Son walks down the stairs into the dinning room and stands on bottom step, sees me in kitchen working on dinner, (so you have dinning room and kitchen space between us) and in a sweet sing song voice proceeds to try and talk (because you know, if I use a sweet sing song voice you might give me what I want..... works with the young fresh from school themselves teachers who practically beg kids to do whats asked of them by speaking like this, right?)
Son: (all quiet and sweet, sing song like) Mom, I know it's extremely hot out today, we've been asking for the pool and sprinklers all day. And I know the a/c in the truck isn't very cold. The stores aren't exactly turning their a/c's on right now and it gets extra hot in them especially while trying to breath under these mask..... and the lady at the deli didn't listen to you when you ordered (I heard you say EXACTLY what you wanted and how you wanted it) and she made us wait 20 minutes while taking her dear sweet time preparing the wrong thing, then explained that they don't carry what you want in this store and that what she tried to pass off on you is the only one they carry but failed to tell you when you put the order in. And I know we had to drive across town to the other store where they DO carry it, and had to drive in the heat with no a/c and go in the store with no a/c and my sister and I were starting to act up and drive you nuts. Then we got home and dad was home early and in a grouchy mood, and the house is hot because we had a temperature spike today and the house temp hasn't been set to catch up with it yet. And now you are standing in a nuclear HOT kitchen, with a 400 F degree oven and highest setting of the gas flames on stove top to so lovingly make us one of our most favorite homecooked meals. Oh, and now I see a big puddle under you, and I know you don't pee your pants, so it must be all the sweat pouring off you while you continue to stand in front of a hot oven and high flames to make this meal for us because you love us so much.................
And I just wanted to come down here and ever so sweetly and QUIETLY tell you about the new Lego set I just saw in my lego magazine that came today, because it's $80 and I know you and Dad think that's a lot just for a Star Wars Lego set that we'll tear apart and lose pieces to and rebuild the wrong way. But I just wanted to tell you I saw it and it's cool.
Grabs hold of irritated ,cranky mom. Embraces her in big side bear hug, then says "okay bye"
Turns and goes back upstairs.
okay okay, maybe he didn't say it QUITE like that (sure felt that way though).
The reality of it was more like:
Son all soft and quiet: Mom......
Me: WHAT!!??? I CAN'T HEAR YOU WITH THIS FAN OVER MY HEAD ACROSS THE ROOM AND I KNOW YOU CAN BE LOUD!!!!!!!!!! COME HERE IF YOU WANT ME TO HEAR YOU AND SPEAK UP!!!!
panting....reaching for cold drink that has so much condensation that it is slipping from my hands......
Son: MMMMMMM.... That smells gooooooooooooooddddddddddd. There's a new Star Wars Lego in my new magazine and I like it and want it. I'll show it to you later.
Gives me hugs and leaves.

I have been so grateful that I have been a Jonas brothers fan for 2 decades now it has been wonderful journey because there songs have the soundtrack to some of my favorite moments in my life and while growing up there songs are my favorite songs ever and now I have been though my teen years there music was there for me in may ways that I can ever imagine. I watched them on Disney when I was a kid been to some concerts back in the day was so good. This girl graduated from high school and her graduating gift was seeing her favorite band in concert it was super emotional because I thought that would ever happen again and because they break up from family issues and band issues they are in different places creatively but after 10 years after the break up they got back together in 2019 it was a very big year for me especially since I was graduating from high school. This past year has made realized how much I missed him this summer and fall they are goin in the toad again. I have a long list of songs that they should sing from back in the day.
