“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”

Ephesians 5:20 (KJV)

Some of you here in the States may have heard of the terrible storms that struck Ok City last Monday night. Believe me, they were powerful and did severe damage across the Ok City Metro area. In fact, they did more damage than any of the tornados we had since January.

At my place, I had 2.5 inches of rain and 80 to 85 MPH winds for an hour. It was basically a hurricane that struck, and I got some water in my Apartment. Took me 5 hours to mop it all up, but that was mostly because of my physical limitations. Mop up a bit, check my heart rate, rest till it got back in the safe zone, and start mopping again.

Even with all of this, I prayed a prayer of thanksgiving, because just 3 miles west of me they had golf ball to tennis ball size hail, and snapped power poles and down lines. In the Metro area there were over 200,000 homes/businesses that lost power. Mine never even flickered. I praised God for that you can bet!

What I know is that even in the darkest of times, if we look hard enough, we can find a reason to pray a prayer of thanks to God.

Man, some of these threads are so dim-witted that I almost feel bad answering them, since they must’ve been made by someone severely mentally stymied. Should I just patronize them and say “Oh yeah you’re right, all dogs do go to Heaven.” Or should I go ahead and tell them the truth? Tough sometimes

Jesus suffered all who came to Him with questions. I suggest you follow His example and present a loving heart towards them as He does for you.

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)

There are many different kinds of folks on here with a wide range of varied beliefs, perspectives, and experiences in life - sometimes - love, compassion, discernment, discretion, and a-whole-lotta-patience are required... ;)
