i can hardly wait till she has a few kids. ♥

diapers, clothes, school, college, cars, car repairs, 'here, honey, buy some groceries'....
cell phone bills, clothes again, shoes, and occasionally even fun stuff.

good bye discretionary spending! :)
Seriously? You pay for your kid's cars and cell phones? Insurance, I can see... maybe, depending on their driving record. And, perhaps putting their phone on a family plan... but even that is stretching it in my book.

If/when I have children, I'll teach them the value of money. Sure, I'll buy them gifts, but I won't pay for everything. You've got the right idea. But you are rather wise. :)

I think the one that gets me the most is clothes. Yes, you should clothe them, but if they want something silly like expensive name brands, then they can fork over the difference between what you would have reasonably spent, and the excessive amount they think is necessary. My mother did that. I did that, And my sister did that. Only one of my sister's boys chose to blow every cent he made on designer clothes.... He's now working in Hospitality, so I guess that's just how he's wired.
