The requirements were to maintain a certain GPA, Major in Business or Accounting, and be a full time student. I tend to over think many things and that is really nice to say.
I meant dress code requirements...sorry should have specified.
good job on the scholarship though.

A lot of it is learning to expand your peripheral vision to focus on the center of a line while absorbing at least six words to either side as you flow downward.

It's really not hard to reach 500 wpm in a week or two. (The record is something like 4,300 wpm with about 62% comprehension... Some gal named Anne something)
Most interesting. Thanks :D

Do you feel you lose a lot of content understanding that way?

i'm fine, and you are a darling. :)

i probably ought to go get something to cook for dinner, though.
i don't want to.....but i will. ;)
The sun is shining and I just took my smallest dog out for a walk. Hubby worked the nightshift last night (5pm-5am) so he stopped at the grocery store on the way home this morning, and he so thoughtfully bought us steaks and chicken wings! Both were marinating when I got up! I boiled potatoes last night for a potato salad, and just mixed it together a little while ago. Yummy BBQ it is for us tonight!! :)

I can definitely relate to that. Like yesterday, I was really frustrated because I couldn't understand my accounting homework and went in to the study lab and a couple of students came in the door and totally made me feel at ease with their personalities and able to get all of it done, one of the reasons why I love going in there to work on my homework.

Oh yes! The faster you go, the less you actually retain..... about like a lot of people read these posts. LOL
a friend says I read a book in 10 minutes and had it memorized all during class and in front of the teacher.....It didn't seem like it to me, but they all thought I was crazy....so who knows if they were just tricking me...

I read most books in an evening or two........ but three or four months later, I find the retention stinks.

Have you been taught "flash" typing? That is where common three or four letter words, (or sometimes even longer) and all the typical, often-used prefixes or suffixes or "endings" are done with just one wave of your hands.

Don't get me wrong I love going and learning new things. Sometimes the workload can be a little overwhelming. I have learned to balance myself and stop and smell the roses and enjoy the moments a little more and it seems it has helped a lot this past term.:)
