Ok. So here i go. Just speaking my mind...
notice churches these days becoming like business entities? Mega churches mostly... the smaller churches follow.
What's up with these tattoos. Music. Clothes. trends. Everything is secular. No different from the 'worldly' lifestyle.
is there a quota on yearly albums? like.. do they really HAVE to make one? why are they all sounding like club music? is the christian genre supposed to be different. what is genre? is it the type of instruments used to make music, the rhythm, notes? or is it different coz of the words used? anyone notice christian artists recycling the same words used from previous songs? so many different artist singing the same songs in their own version. the song was perfectly performed by the real artist who wrote it. the real artists were inspired.
christian rap, christian heavy metal, christian rock.. come on! are they just rejects who didn't make it in mainstream? taking advantage of the system so that they could get their moment of glory on stage.
Hillsong youth. Yeah no different from clubbing. share a bit here and there. Then dance party. training young people how to dress and impress the opposite sex. training so that when they get bored of church they know how to dance in real clubs. The only difference is that sex is repressed and there is no swearing. Yet the urge is there. trying to walk about like an innocent person. talking God stuff. get these girls on the right spot and they all succumb.
Whats up with all the light show? the bling blings. reserved car spaces for them special people. the VIPs. they don't even mingle with common people. they have reserved seats next to the pulpit. My, they love being important don't they. preaching their own values, based on how they perceive the 'word of God'. people being like sheep readily accept these messages without question.
people see them as untouchables. do not question them or their lifestyle. they are holy. set apart. humans with titles. very important titles.
privilege. racial stratification. I've not seen an asian person worship lead in hillsong. yet i know most of them having amazing voices and show potential for great leadership.
Ever been to high school and felt secluded coz you were different? then started your own group, or did something 'cool' and all of a sudden you're accepted? that's church for ya. no different from the 'worldly' ways. say something out of the ordinary and you get left behind.
i went to a church once and i thought it was different from the rest of the 'worldly' churches. it seemed legit at first, people seriously worshipping and praying regularly. i was accepted at first sight. i felt very important. i could play music. bam! i was in the worship team. week in week out. hanged out with these people for some time. I've got a bad habit of speaking my mind. and so i did. they became quiet all of a sudden. i didn't swear. i questioned the christian way. that was all... i played coz i liked playing. i got ignored like a sore thumb. but kept playing.
theology? whats up with that? why are they still trying to translate ancient greek and hebrew in english? and millions of preachers are out there preaching the word of God. ironic aye. what if the scholars were to figure out the exact meaning of those texts in 2 weeks time. what did we just learn and accept in our faith system all these years?
do people realise there are other ancient scripts that were written along the same timeline as the main canon? do people question why only a handful of books were collected to make up the bible? Is it possible that powerful men ordered this to happen. to select only a handful of books that favoured their own interests?
preachers teach that these other books aren't inspired by the spirit. people then deem them corrupt. have they even read them? all those events , if compared to secular historical timeline seems to be linked.
God's word could be selectively used to manipulate. it is undoubtedly powerful. it has stood the test of time. vultures realise this and take advantage. people don't question. they are mindless robots. its just human nature.
whats up with these denominations? if all christians had the same goal and purpose, why not just work together? why give importance to the name of their churches. thats right.. its coz those men had different values and so thats what they preached, and the sheep whose values aligned with those preachers started to follow.
materialism. whats up with that? Jesus tried to separate us from this, and what do you get? preachers saying that money is a 'tool'. they say its important. in moderation of course... yeah... spending valuable hours preaching about tithes and offerings.
hillsong conference tickets. i laugh at that. how the heck are the poor supposed to get in? they even got atms inside the church. thats just in case you forget to withdraw your tithe money before coming to church. you have no excuses son. connect group leader's faces light up when they see you tithing big. blank faces when you don't.
koorong. a christian book shop. selling cookbooks, motivational books, how to do this, how to do that, how to fix this, psychology. merchandise. colourful bible covers, fancy bookmarks, leather covered bibles with 1000 different translations. just like a normal book shop. the only difference is that theres more bibles and lots of music that didnt make mainstream.
am i the only one seeing these things? i read the bible and then observe the church and i wonder. at least muslims stick to their faith and dont get caught up with this crap.
