Thank you. We could get as many prayers as possible. He is a wonderful man that does have a relationship with Jesus, however he is not in the best of health as of now. This man is actually my sister's Father In Law and her and my brother in law were talking on Saturday it would be better off if he would just pass away. That is just so cold-hearted. My sister and her husband grew up in church and ever since they got married they refuse to be in church and get offended when someone mentions God or the bible

Wow ... that kid was in an elite class. And yeah ... that would have made me feel better too knowing afterwards how good he actually was. There's always a rare few whose instincts for the game are beyond the norm. Being the top-ranked kid in the state of Texas at any age puts this kid in that class. Had to be fun playing him 
. Might I ask or do you even remember what pawn opening he was partial to (when playing white) ... d2-d4 or e2-e4 ? Reason I ask is because back in the late 80's, early 90's, the e2-e4 (queen pawn) opening was very popular for a while around here with the younger players. I remember coming across it quite often and recall being somewhat surprised at how many of the younger players liked it. It's merits are still a topic of debate. Pretty cool stuff OH. Wished you lived closer . Face to face chess is much preferable to over the net IMO

I'm not surprised OH . For years (70's-80's), I was always far more comfortable with the d2-d4 opening myself but came to like the aggressive attack potential presented with the above. Castle king side pretty much always as well

Yup .. pretty difficult not to be defensive minded .. particularly during the beginning and mid game intervals. My brother was "defense only" minded throughout and always will be. We'd spend hours upon hours with me trying different attacks and him only defending. And back then, we never played on the clock. I'd fall asleep sometimes waiting for him to make his move (almost) .. lol But it was interesting. The e2-e4 opening always presented him with the more difficult challenge though. To him, it was a tad too unorthodox for his liking .. lol I think that's why I came to like it so much
