The Holy Spirit (the Spirit of truth) is 100% in favour of believers getting knowledge and doctrine and loads of grace. It is God's indisputable plan and blueprint to make this happen so that believers can have the mind of Christ and learn how to think with Him in the details of life. Having knowledge and doctrine is what's involved in the love of God being shed abroad in the heart of the believer (Rom 5:5, Phil 1:9). If we are not growing in knowledge and keeping His word, the love of God is not being perfected (or matured) in us (1Jn 2:5).

The Holy Spirit knows that we get to know God through knowledge, doctrine, wisdom and understanding and it all comes by grace. We start off as babes in Christ and desire the milk of God's word and that word gets grafted in through meekness (1Pt 2:2,3, Jm 1:21) as we grow in grace and knowledge of Christ (2Pt 3:18).

Hos 4:1,6a
1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee...

God's rejects or refuses those that refuse knowledge and as a result are destroyed by the lack of it. Perhaps many have been wounded by God because they have refused the knowledge of God by rejecting its inspiration as the spoken word that was written for us to live by through faith and through the Holy Spirit that quickens us with it (Ps 119:25,107,154).

Lots of people know the bible by heart but don't know God at all.

That is obviously true but we must grow in grace and knowledge to know Him. This is why Paul prayed this for the churches in Ephesus and Colosse...

Eph 1:17,18

17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Col 1:9,10
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

When persecutions and trials come to those believers who live godly in Christ Jesus (2Tim 3:12), it comes to try the word and the faith that is in them (1Pt 1:5-9 4:12,13, Ps 18:30, Ps 12:6).

Your very right for all of our lives it is our job to keep learning as much as we can about God. Why? The more we learn of God the more IF we want to we can change ourselves to be like God. Most Christians are baby milk suckers as you may know. Been there done that.

They are just the same as they were today as they were 20 years ago. God say's don't hate people. Well most Christians hate lots of people. They don't need to go onto learning more and more of all the rest of the things of God they need to study hate and how God says not to hate until they don't hate anyone ever again.

The bible says forgive and IF you don't forgive you will not be forgiven by God. In other words there are lots of people who say they are Christians and they are on their way to hell right now because they hate people.

The part in the bible where it says the people are before God and their not getting into heaven and their standing there well God I did this and I did this in your name how come I don't get to go into heaven. Hello!............ That's talking about the people who right now are claiming they are Christians.
