Well I guess Jesus should have sent the multitudes away and just taught the twelve.
I suppose that Paul shut the door once the group got to twelve.
I like small churches, but would never turn anyone away regardless how many came.
The more the better.
Why not just admit you refuse to follow the command to assemble because things are not done as you wish.
We need to remember that Jesus was speaking to the people of Israel. He went through all the cities reminding them of the promises of God to them as a nation.
We, however are the Body of Christ, and we are the ekklesia, the church, which is His body, the called out ones from Israel and the Nations.
We are to come together to encourage, build up and edify each other. I do not see anywhere that Jesus, the Head has told us to build institutions and have lecture type addresses, let alone weekly.
Do you know your disciples? Do you know their disciples? Do you know of others who are making disciples?
What did Jesus command US to do?
