Spiritual warfare manages the believer from becoming too comfortable in this society. Constant struggles with the enemy remind us that we could well be residing in a hostile territory. Finally, warfare teaches the Christian that the servant is not above his Master! Our Lord is a soldier. He battled even to the shedding of His blood. And the truth is He won the Victory and for that we must follow Him.

Satan mixes lies with the word, to use a truth to carry his lies. The believer must therefore profile, and judge all things. Satan is a “mixer.” He tries to taint something of Gods ninety-nine percent truth, with his one percent of lie, and this can grows like wild weed if undetected, until the proportions are reversed.

2 Corinthians 11:13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

It is often more effect to delude the truth then to remove the truth, this has been something Satan has done since the fall by saying you will not truly die.

It is the pernicious nature of evil spiritual forces to seed the truth with lies. If the devil came as the proverbial horned creature with a pitchfork and tail, even normal secular people would trample each other, heading for the exits. Satan is about seduction, the honey lips and perfume that's really a whore, the cult leader or apostate preacher, truth out of one side of their mouths, lies out the other side, the sleight of hand that shifts the focus off Jesus Christ alone and things eternal. It's the leaven of sin and evil, mixed in the bread dough. The end result is to get you focused on self, or the cult organization with its rules, the carnal and temporal of the world, the doctrines of bondage, or living focused on this life and the flesh, as opposed to lifting up the name of the Lord Jesus and the kingdom of God, eternal life, living for His kingdom, not the kingdoms of the world. It's anything but to tell the truth of sin that damns and one way only, repentance and the narrow gate of the blood of Jesus Christ, the need to receive Christ as Lord and be baptized in the Holy Spirit that saves. This is what the devil doesn't want discussed in the world at large, in the pulpits or on your TV screen, and, by and large, he has the masses in a spiritual coma. The most crucial warfare is, in its entirety, spiritual.

Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Proverbs 5:3-5 For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

And watch out on the web,

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.

Romans 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath.

Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Matthew 13:24-30 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

I believe that Jesus defeated Satan by His blood on the cross. So my warfare is not that hard. I just pick up the sword of the Spirit (the Word of God), and begin to praise God for the power in that word. I know from my experiences that praise silences the enemy (Psalms), and also praise magnifies the power of the Lord upon a situation.

So, I really don't struggle - it is holding the Word of God in the face of lies that might be trying to get into my mind - and then lots of thanksgiving and praise.

My own daughter was delivered from drugs by binding her to different promises I found in the bible - and then giving God a continual stream of praise that He was doing exactly what that word said. How much of a struggle is it to just praise a lot?

But what really shields me from His attacks is knowing the truth - and having faith in it. Satan most of all wants to take down your faith -your shield.
