Good, do those too but now add some push-ups to the routine, and remember to keep reading the Bible and meditating upon the sound doctrines of the Holy Creeds. Add the push-ups though, you can start small you don't have to go crazy with it, the most important thing is to just start. Every week until the end of the Winter just add more to the number of push-ups. Though Eli laughs at me I am serious, there is a deeper dynamic to this. The spiritual and the physical work together like a wheel and the pavement, when they meet the vehicle goes forward out of the stationary position. On top of this the aim is to accelerate, not maintain a speed, but accelerating. Do this and besides breaking the stationary dynamic both physically and spiritually you will be able to receive much greater blessings from the hand of Lord Jesus than this when the Winter ends, remember to praise his holy name.
Do so willingly, not having to, there is a difference at least for me I now see over the have to's under Law, that I got to see "I" can't do, only God for me in risen Son to me
Motive, to know God's love that is unfathomable to my first born person under Law that I grew up under of in this world we are in. and no longer of
Thanks, Sonjudgment great post to seek out this truth for us in God to us by Son for us all to get freed from under Law

This is where the term "Christian chad" comes from i guess. :D
Hey, nothing wrong with it. Makes me smile but there is truth in physical motivation from the Bible and from God.

1 Corinthians 6:19–20
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you belong to God. Therefore honor God with your bodies
So let, trust God to do it in us through Son as risen for us to be new in and. not of self anymore, at least for me this I see after a very long walk off a short pier daily, thanks

FR, i ain't. I'm keeping it real.
There is truth in that but yes it does make me smile, i can't deny it.
I know that there is truth in keeping our bodies "clean" and in good shape by limiting what we eat, exercising etc.
Our forefathers did all of this Biblically and knew what meats were "clean" and "unclean" which today are proven by science.
So, yes there is truth in what you say, but HOW you say it, makes me smile. :D

Blain, since 1CR 15:58, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord" is such an excellent basis for reference to a stationary Christian, maybe the better name for this thread would be "stagnant Christian"?

(Or in keeping with my "both-and" preference: Stationary & Stagnant Christians :^)
Has MT 25:26-30 been cited or nominated yet as possibly applying to stagnant Christians? "...I was afraid and I went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you..."

Hmmm, you are close but I can tell from the verse you cite that you do not understand me fully. 1 Timothy 4 is closer to what I have in mind. The physical is good and profits a little, but indeed the spiritual is greater. The physical will hopefully just motivate and prepare the stationary Christians to receive the greater things which will come from the study of the holy doctrines and the preparations taken now.

Acts 17:28
For in him we live and move and are! As one of your own poets says it, ‘We are the sons of God.’

thanks to God, not of any of my self works ever, since no other flesh but Son's flesh can or has pleased God, that is done by the Son John 19:30
I see to be dead daily to any self works ever again and see God's done works work through me in love and mercy to all
Not that "I" can do it "I" can't reading Romans 7 proves this to me. therefore I stand in trust to God to do it through me anyone else?

Okay, with that i understand you better now.
One way of understanding that is also "We live for the Lord we die for the Lord" that Paul said.
I know that you are saying this in relation to the OP from Blain, but i have a lot of trouble understanding brother Blain but to circle back to the OP.

What is seen as "stagnant" or "stationary" from one point of view of a Christian, it's also considered, peace, calm, gratitude and appreciation from another Christian.
So, i don't see anything wrong with either approach which makes us appreciate and love God in our own way.

However the physical approach is also valid which not only includes my verse and yours, but others as well.
Many years ago when i was young and used to go to the gym ( :giggle: ) i used to play chant songs while working out.
But that was when i was going through a mid-life crisis phase when i was preparing for a Spartan race where i met other mid-life crisis men my age. :)
