Does anyone know why during the story about Jesus' death and rising there are slight discrepancies in the Bible of how the story went ? Such as:

Matthew 28 says that an angel came down and sat on the stone of the tomb. Then Mary ran to tell Jesus' followers what happened.

Mark 16 says that Mary entered the tomb and then she saw the angel sitting inside. It also says Mary was afraid, ran away and didn't tell anyone. Then is says after Jesus showed Himself to her she went to tell the others. But it says in my Bible that these verses about her telling the others were omitted in early Greek copies. So what did she do and why were the verses omitted and where how did they get in my Bible if they weren't in the original!?

Luke 24 has a different story saying that there were TWO angels and they stood not sat. It also says that Mary told the followers what happened.

John 20 has a totally different account that Mary went to the tomb first, Jesus was gone and then she went to get Peter who came with her another follower. Then they all left besides Mary and then TWO angels came and sat where Jesus lay before.

I guess it's not a huge deal, it's still basically the same story, meaning the same thing. I'm just curious as to why they're a little different.

The four gospels were written by four different people, and were written to four different audiences. Each have a different purpose, so we should expect each of them to differ in detail, customs, and order. Don't think of the slight differences as a sign of contradiction. If anything, the differences increase our understanding of the life and ministry of Jesus and, taken together as a whole, provide an amazingly clear portrayal of Christ.

Well, as most people here know, I am one to criticize the bible, but in this case, I think it is a pretty minor deal. Time, dialect, and translation is all a factor here. As well as the fact that there were different writers. I don't particularly agree with HearOhIsrael (No offense). I think it was completely human involvement that led to different version of this story. If that error is brought on by bad translation, change in dialect over time, or slightly skewed "inspiration" is up for debate. But in the end, it is a trivial matter.

Matthew, Mark, and Luke are considers to be what is called the "Synoptic gospels."
This simply means to be viewed together.
Thus, by reading and tying all of them together one will get the whole story.

John is not included in this because his purpose is from a different view point all together.

If you will

Matthew was written primarily to the Jews who would have been concerned about Christ Kingship.
Thus he quotes from the Old Testament 60 plus times.

Mark wrote the the Romans
Thus, he centered more on what He did.

Luke wrote the Gentiles
Thus, he focused more on Jesus the man.

John wrote the everyone
Thus, he writes about Jesus' divine nature (John 1:1ff)

I beleive that the Bible has no contradiction. Jesus said in mathew 11 vs 25:"I thank You,Father,Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes."Even so,Father, for so it seemed good in your sight".
Dear brother or sister, God makes these verse like that in order to confuse the wise and prudent and they will never receive any revelation from God. Scriptures are made only for those who are like babes because babes are not arrogant but beleivers.Every word from the Bible are inspired from God.God do not ask us to understand intellectually, but to get the revelation of who Jesus is. Their is no way to explain Bible by intellectual system.

It is a big deal. Why would the death of Jesus be in the Bible if it were not important?

Nothing in the Holy Bible was written in vain. Maybe use the KJV Bible? Or perhaps Bullinger's Companion Bible to help further understand.
