We are probably on the same page. It represents the rest that we have through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross, and we enter into that through faith.
Jesus is our spiritual rest..not a physical rest like the Sabbath law. When the reality came, we no longer need the shadow (Colossians 2:16-17).
I sometimes wonder how Sabbathkeepers would have reacted to a slave coming into the NT church, whose unbelieving master would not let him have Saturday off. Would they simply have consigned the guy to hell?
The law is spiritual, therefore the Sabbath is also spiritual in comparison, and it is still relevant, if that makes sense to you. I agree with your post. There is much more that is good concerning this if you would care to talk about the feasts and all. I don't believe that the Sabbath is actually Saturday according to the Gregorian calendar, even though many might disagree. God establishes them, for He ( Christ Jesus) is Lord of the Sabbath according to the words of Christ. To me it's a time, and not particularly a certain day, but the Sabbath is made for us.
"Therefore
the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath." Mark 2:28
This verse is a confirmation that the Sabbath is also New Testament, and New Covenant.
