Is there a current example of something like this happening so I have more clarity here?
Sure, take whatever sin we have say it is lying. When we sin, the Holy Spirit convicts us sin John 16:8, if we have not shut out His voice. Every time we lie, we know its wrong, we prayerfully take it to Jesus and ask for His forgiveness and for us to be in harmony with His will, but we continue to lie. If we keep going to Jesus He will help us overcome this sin, there are many promises in scriptures that show how to do this if we sincerely want to live in harmony with God, but its when we stop listening to that still small voice and keep lying but stop bringing it to Jesus, that where it becomes dangerous. The only sin that will not be forgiven is the sin we don't ask for forgiveness for, when we start living in sin and convince ourselves its okay, this is when God says one will be given strong delusion where we no longer can see the truth from the lie 2 Thessalonians 2:11 and one dangerous place to be.

You still haven't answered my questions. What happens to those who don't confess all their sins and those who don't always cooperate?
You are making claims in general. I'm asking specific questions.
Scripture tells us...

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” [g]says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Matthew 7: 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Jesus has given us everything and asks for so little in return, many do not accept His free gift of salvation but repenting and receiving God's sanctification of all sin and unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 Our salvation is from sin, not in sin Mat 1:21

Show scripture where unrepented sin is automatically forgiven. We need to look at the OT sanctuary system animals were sacrificed daily for sin, not just once and sin forevermore will be forgiven. Why would we not want to spend time daily with Jesus and confess our sins and have Jesus cleanse us of all unrighteousness and help us get on the narrow path back to Him. We are not saved in sins, we are saved from sin Mat 1:21

I'm familiar with scripture. I'll assume you are basing your understanding from scripture. Can you, in your words, answer my questions?
What are the temporal and eternal consequences for an individual who has unconfessed sin and who hasn't always cooperated?

Please answer my questions and my point will become clear. I'm not trying to have a "got you" moment. I'm trying to show you something you may not have considered.

I prefer scripture because our words our meaningless, the consequence of sin is death Romans 6:23 Jesus gives us another alternative, but if we don't accept, we will have to live with the penalty at judgement day.

If I understand You here, You are saying, if we are hearing, we are following, and that includes what Jesus instructed us to do. You seem to be referring to the Prayer Jesus taught His Disciples to pray daily?

Jesus died for us- He took the penalty Hebrews 2:9
He forgives us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins 1 John 1:9
He who believes in Me has everlasting life John 6:47

Belief and obedience go hand in hand which there are many scriptures showing this. Because we believe in Him, we do what He asks. Belief and faith are not passive, they are active.

If you want to show me something through scripture please share, I am open.

Jesus wants a relationship with us and we do that through time in prayer, time in His Word and sharing - its something we should do daily.

Its when we give into sin and stop trying to overcome through Christ does that get dangerous Hebrews 10:26-30
That is definitely NOT what that Scripture is saying. It needs to be connected to this verse: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

This is addressed to Hebrew Christians who were saved but wanted to revert back to the Law of Moses (as you wish to do). That would be equivalent to despising the shed blood of Christ and the grace of God because of His shed blood, since the Mosaic Law only spoke of animal sacrifices. This whole epistle was to warn Hebrew Christians not to go back to the Old Covenant (Heb 6:6). And now it is warning you not to do the same. Ellicott's commentary clears this up:

"Both the writer and his readers knew well what was involved in “falling away” in such a case as this. To go back to Judaism implied an acceptance of all that Jews had said and done against the Son of God, a return to the bitter hate cherished by the falling nation against the Crucified, a repetition in spirit of all that Pharisees had done, and without the palliation of ignorance; for the highest evidence for Christianity—that of true and deep Christian experience—had been given to them."

As we know from Paui's epistles, Judaizers had entered into the churches teaching that unless Christians were also Torah observant, they were not saved. They were insisting that Christians should also be circumcised. Therefore Paul said this: Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. (Gal 5:2-4)

You want to be a Sabbatarian, but God says you must keep THE WHOLE LAW. Which means that Christ has become "of no effect unto you".

Scripture is awesome. But I'm trying to understand what you believe it is saying...your understanding of them. Just because someone quotes scripture, that doesn't mean they understand what it is actually teaching.
If you don't care to use your own words that's fine. I have enjoyed the conversation.

Thanks, I have enjoyed this too and agree because one uses scripture doesn't mean we understand. I am a firm believer that scripture interprets itself if we allow it to. Some scripture may be harder than others, especially Paul which comes with a warning 2 Peter 3:16 but most scripture is pretty plain, its when we insert our ideas that things so wrong and before reading the scripture we always need to pray for guidance and understanding.

Anway, thanks for the chat and God bless! :)

Grace does not give us a license to sin Romans 6:1-2 Sin is the transgression of the Ten Commandments even in the NC Romans 7:7 Mat 5:19-30

We are under the NC and the law being referred to plainly in Hebrews 10 is animal sacrifices, not the law that defines sin. Instead of sacrificing animals for sins, which blood made nothing perfect but the blood of Christ is perfect for cleansing us of all sin and unrighteousness 1 John 1:9

Hebrews 10:26-30 is plain and easy enough to understand I prefer God's plain Word over other people's commentary, but we have free will.

I'm making a distinction. The basis for our forgiveness is the shed blood of Christ. Confession doesn't cause forgiveness. And 1 John 1:9 doesn't say that it does. It only says that God is both faithful and just when He forgives us. The reason He is faithful and just just in doing so is found in chapter 2...we have a propitiation in Christ. God's wrath toward us because of our sins has been satisfied. Having accepted Jesus sacrifice on our behalf, our sins are forgiven. He is faithful because He kept His promise. He is just because His wrath has been satisfied.
If God forgives sin because we confess and not because His wrath has been satisfied, we have no need of a Savior. Anyone can confess. Only Jesus can satisfy God's wrath.

your understanding is really flawed, you always argue against people citing proper scripture, the 10 commandments are distinct from the rest of the LAW, why would you have to follow for example the ceremonial laws, are you a levite?NO jesus was teaching the 10 when will you understabd this?
  • nothing in scripture says the decalogue isn't part of the law
  • nothing in scripture says only the decalogue is the law
  • everything in scripture says that the Law is comprised of both the decalogue and every other judgment, command, ordinance and order given through Moses
  • nothing in scripture says some of the law can be deleted while other parts remain

it is a purely human tradition, albeit an ancient one, that seeks to divide the law of the Sinai covenant with Israel into pieces & ignore some but impose others on gentiles who have believed in Christ.

Agree with this, without the sheading of blood, there could be no forgiveness of sins and I have said in a few of my postings, maybe not in our communications would have to look, but the blood of animals was never perfect to forgive sins, the blood of Christ is for forgiveness and for cleansing of all unrighteousness. Heb 10:1-22 1 John 1:9 Animals sacrifices was always just a placeholder pointing forward to Jesus until the Seed should come. Christ is faithful to us because He loves us so much and through God's faithfulness and righteousness He gave up His only son to be our Sacrificial Lamb for the forgiveness of sins. We are only forgiven when we accept His free gift by seeking repentance- its what Jesus first preached- repent for the kingdom is at hand Mat Mat 4:17 and we do this through faith that He will cleanse us from all sin and unrighteousness. When we want to turn our life over to Jesus we should be baptized and instead of walking in our old life of sin, we walk in faith and love to God. 1 John 5:3 John 14:15, Exo 20:6 Romans 3:31 Rev 14:12

We believe in the whole bible including Paul who does not contradict the plain teachings of Jesus. Many misunderstand Paul because they don’t allow the scripture to interpret itself and insert their own ideas into his writings, which is why his writings come with a warning. 2 Peter 3:16
Revelation 22

18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Certainly Jesus and his disciples who penned Holy Scriptures are in agreement.
Since those were completed with the ending of Revelation, I think this applies too.
