Prophesy and false prophecy share the same delivery process. However one will bring you edification exhortation, and comfort while the other will give you false pretense and a watered down truth.
Test all Prophecy: 1Th 5:19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies.
21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.
Gods Voice against False Prophets: Ezekiel 13:9 "My hand will be against the prophets who envision futility and who divine lies; they shall not be in the assembly of My people, nor be written in the record of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I [am] the Lord GOD.
Synthetic material imitate the authentic that may appear to have the same value, but time reveals in wear and tear and the test proves the imitation to be false with no value.
