Again the verses in question specifically does not say" convicting the world of sin by bringing to them the knowledge of Christ" It says
8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin ( 1 ) , and of righteousness,( 2 ) and of judgment( 3) :

( 1)9Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

12¶I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
It seems to be saying that because they don't believe on Jesus ,this sin ( unbelief) Is the one the Holy Spirit is reproving them of . Which makes sense as this ' not Believing on Jesus is the reason people will not be glorified ,because until they Believe on Jesus, they remain unregenerated ect .
The exact order of words is not the essential element, but rather, what it means. I know that because in the synoptic Gospels we have certain sayings of Jesus said differently from author to author. It is *what the verse means* that matters, and not how, precisely, it is said.

It is impossible to interpret a saying by using only that saying! To deal with what the saying means requires explanations, examples, and exploration of ramifications. You can quote the verses all day long, and you're still going to have to put in *more words* what it means.

As I see it, the Holy Spirit brings the knowledge of Jesus to men, to convict them that if they don't turn to him in righteousness, they will be lost.

I think it means - when the world see's the Christians are righteous and filled with Spirit they will realise their own sin and they will repent. Check out this quote from the church fathers:
If the neighbor of an elect person sins, the elect person sins. For if he had led himself as the word dictates, the neighbor would have been in awe of his life so that he did not sin
Hope this is "good news"
