I love the way people quote Lev 19:28, and ignore the verse before it.
If you want to follow that law, why not the one before it? What is the difference?
Well, I don't round the corners of my head nor do I trim my beard in a fashion that pagan sun worshippers did to honor the sun. In other words, I do obey verse 27 and wonder why you think it strange?

Do you shave your hair in a circle on the top of your head to honor Ra?

Well here is some food for thought:

Would you feel comfortable going to your church in broad daylight and taking some big cans of spray paint and spray painting in big bold letters "I LOVE JESUS!" And then when everybody comes to church the next time you have service, would you boldly proclaim to everyone that it was you that had done it and it is a beautiful work of art and you thought it would be a nice addition to the building?

Now instead of painging "I LOVE JESUS," would you put your boyfriend or girlfriends name? Or the logo of your favorite basketball team? Or whatever else you want to have tatooed?

I would venture to say no you would not do that. Why not? Well if you really love God, you will respect his house right? And also, that church property does not belong to you. It is someone else's property right? Now can we think of any scriptures that might draw these same parallels to our bodies? Hmmmm.....

1 Cor 13:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy: for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

1 Cor 6:19 What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's.
