Well, I see. Placement counts for a lot, anyway, I guess. Yours is on wrist, isn't it? was it any easy placement to decide upon? beause many ladies do prefer ankle for their first.

Take care.

well i chose my wrist because i used to cut and i would draw a cross on my wrist to remind me God is always there and he shed his blood so i dont have to. so i got a cross tattoo there as a permanent reminder. so thats why i got it on my wrist.

I see, because a lot of faith related tattoos are placed as a means of other people commenting on them and thereby conversations starting.

It seems like your faith related tattoo is more of a reminder to you personally, than for other people to comment on, right?

Take care.

No, I'm sure you dont!

But you know that for some people who might not otherwise go over the edge and get a tattoo, feel pushed to do it because of its potential to start faith related conversations.

That's how it seems to work with some people who get faith related tattoos, anyway.

Take care.

I only got a tattoo cuz i wanted one. I would never get one just because of peer pressure. in fact i thought about not getting one cuz everyone else was getting them! lol

Okay, I see. I guess I wasn't really talking about peer pressure, more of the fact that some people value the potential for starting faith related conversations - or witnessing, to put it differently - and so decide to get one.

But yes, not getting one because others are, I can understand that! lol

Take care.

Farouk-

Sorry, I just saw your response. I think there are a lot of things in the Bible that are, for lack of better words, outdated.

I don't have any tattoos, nor do I really intend to get one. At least, not at this point in my life. Everyone keeps telling me they hurt, so I'm scared :p

And yes, the piercings subject should be on a different thread, but, as I said, they're not symbolic in any way, so I think I know what most people would say on that topic, ha ha...

Cristen:

People used to say, that All the Bible is for us, but all the Bible might not be about us.

Scofield helpfully described the different dispensations or dealings.

But in any case, some Christians might well find it very helpful guidance about tattoos etc in Leviticus, but I guess the primary context is among Jews in the land under the law. (If that makes any sense...)
