Men are spiritually dead in sin, dead to God naturally.
Looking back on my own life, how God loved me when I was unlovable, I can say without doubt that
not loving God is the most unnatural thing on earth.

I know I wasn't. As a very young child, I had great faith in God, even if it was from the simple understanding of a childs mind.

Prophet, Priest, and King !

The Lord Jesus Christ in His Mediatorial Person, as Prophet, Priest, and King , is the same for all those He died for. He is certainly their Great High Priest, who gave Himself a sacrifice for them Heb 2:17

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

He was Christ their sacrifce 1 Cor 5:7

7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Now if He was Our Sacrifice as High Preiest, He must be our King, for in this He is the Anti Type of Melchizadek, and as King, He shall rule and apply the Benefits of His Death / Sacrifice, He has all power to do that, while else would He mention that fact of Himself having all power in Heaven and Earth, when sending His Messengers out into the World to Evangelize those He is a High Priest unto Matt 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

This automatically implies they will be in a teachable condition Spiritually !

Also, He is their Prophet to give them Spiritual Knowledge of their Salvation through Him Isa 42:6

6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

The word light means: spiritual light of instruction ! The word teach in Matt 28:19 Matheteuo it means the same thing, to instruct !

This is world wide because His Covenant People are in all nations ! Lk 1:77

77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people[jew and gentile alike] by the remission of their sins,

This giving knowledge is also instrction, for the word Instruct means:

to furnish with knowledge, especially by a systematic method; teach; train; educate.

Jn 1:9

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Every man here is limited to the Covenant People, The Elect of God out of all the world, The word lighteth Photizo also means:

to enlighten, spiritually, imbue with saving knowledge to instruct, to inform, teach
to give understanding to

Jn 1:9 and Lk 1:77 are speaking of the same thing, tothe same People !

All for whom sins He died as High Priest, He gives them as their Prophet a Saving Knowledge of it !

So all of what He is as their Covenant Mediator, Prophet, King and Priest has been engaged on their behalf, in their Redemption and Salvation ! 22

Lest it all be in vain !

All for whom Christ died for, the True Christ of scripture that is, and not the false christ of freewillism and arminianism, it [His Death/ Blood] would be in vain if everyone He died for did not have it sprinkled [applied] to their conscience by the Holy Spirit of Promise; Peter therefore writes 1 Pet 1:1:1-2

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

BTW, this verse condemns all false religion, because it actually means that the Blood of Christ, and its Blessings are Applied to those it was shed for by the Spirit causing Gospel Obedience !

Heb 12:24

24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Christ's death is the death of the testator Heb 9:16-17, and so the blood of the New Testament must be applied to the beneficiaries, which are all of the Many of Matt 26:28

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

This Blood Sprinkling was not just for jews whom Christ would die for, but for people in many nations Isa 52:13-15

13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled [His Resurrection and Exaltation out of the dead], and be very high [At the Right Hand of God].

14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

The significance of this is because of the Abrahamic Covenant Gen 17:5

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

The Sprinkling is a Spiritual Application by the Spirit, which is a Blessing of Abraham unto the elect Gentiles of Abraham's Seed Gal 3:13-14

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Hence the Sprinkling of the Blood of Jesus Christ is connected to the Spirit 1 Pet 1:2

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

And this Blood Sprinkling by the Spirit is aplied to the consious of all of the Many who had an interest in His Blood Shed, the redeemed of the Covenant Heb 9:13-14

13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Its impossible to be among the Many here Matt 26:28

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

And it not result in the application here Heb 9:14

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Lest it all be in vain ! 2

If any for whom Christ shed His Blood for Mk 14:24

And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

If anyone of them in time, does not begin to Live by Faith, or as Heb 9:14 says " to serve the living God"

Because of it [The Shed blood for them] then the blood of Christ has failed its purpose of God . You see, every one it was shed for should become one of these Rev 1:5-6

5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Yes, that's their serving the Living God as promised by Heb 9:14 as the effects of the shedding of His Blood for them !

Again if it does not occur for any one of the Many, non performance has occurred for something due and required.

For His Blood is the Blood of sprinkling, meaning it would be shed in vain if not applied to those He shed it for, for it is written, He shall sprinkle many nations ! 22

Christ's Death Turns us from Iniquity !

Acts 3:25-26

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

The Resurrected Christ turns EVERY ONE OF THEM, of those He died for, Turns them away from their Sins, Other words , gives them Repentance !

Thats part of the Blessing of Abraham Promised, Gen 12:3

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Part of the being blessed, and a major part, is that of being Turned away from our sins, for that it was connected to the Blessing of Abraham, Peter makes plain lets read Acts 3:20-26

20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

The promised to be blessed in Vs 25 is the fufilled through Christ, Abraham's Seed [Gal 3:16] here in Vs 26, Christ through His Redemptive Work, His Death, and having been raised up, He blesses Abraham's Seed, in turning each and every one of them away from their sins.

Now True, Peter at this specific time was preaching at a remnant of jews, however, he stills quotes a Divine Promise in the connection thereof that applies to Gentiles, when He spake these words Acts 3:25

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Paul under the inspiration of God applies the very same words to the Gentiles Gal 3:8

8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

However these heathen Gentiles also belonged to the Seed of Abraham, for remember, God made Abraham a Father of many nations Gen 17:5

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

So therefore the Promise to turn every one of them [the seed] away from their sins, did also apply to Abraham's Seed among the Heathen, thats why Peter says here Acts 11:18

18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Thats what " turning away every one of you from his iniquities." being turned away from ones sins denotes, that we have been Granted Repentance from God through Jesus Christ, and consequently, all believers through Christ, jew or Gentile, are Abraham's Seed and Heirs according to Promise Gal 3:29

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

One of those Promises being Acts 3:25-26

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Christ's Death Turns us from Iniquity !
There are no verses that say this. Just another calvinistic talking point, apparently.

There is no mention of Christ's death here. Which refutes the poster's claim.

The Resurrected Christ turns EVERY ONE OF THEM, of those He died for,
One of Calvinists' biggest errors in their claim that Jesus didn't die for everyone. The Bible plainly says so.

2 Cor 5:141,15,19
14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.
15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

So, in v.14 and 15 we find the clear words "He died for ALL". Then, in v.19 we see that God reconciled the WORLD to Himself in Christ.

No verse says "world of the elect" which is the erroneous way Calvinists always read such verses. Or, "all" means "all kinds of". But none of the verses about "all" tells us what "kind of...". Like "the elect".

So when "all" has no descriptives attached, it really does mean EVERYONE.

So those who claim that Jesus didn't die for everyone can be discounted because of that huge error.

Turns them away from their Sins, Other words , gives them Repentance !
No, Jesus gives believers forgiveness. Repentance is an action of the believer, not something God gives the believer.

Thats part of the Blessing of Abraham Promised, Gen 12:3

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Reading through Romans 3 and 4 tells you what you need to know about the blessings of Abraham. It's all about faith in the Messiah.

Heb 9:9-10 . .The gifts and sacrifices that the priests offer are not able to
cleanse the consciences of the people who bring them. For that old system
deals only with food and drink and ritual washing-- external regulations that
are in effect only until their limitations can be corrected.

Prior to tasting the forbidden fruit, Adam thought nothing about his
appearance in the buff totally disrobed. (Gen 2:25) But upon tasting the
fruit, his opinion about nudity underwent a reversal, so to speak. (Gen 3:7)

He and his posterity-- Eve --obtained an intuitive sense of good and evil
(Gen 3:22). Well, that sense-- a.k.a. the conscience --wasn't God-given, and
it exerts a bad influence upon Man's association with his maker. (Gen 3:7-8)

Point being: none of the Levitical system's rituals address the corruption
inherent within the human conscience that came about by means of the
forbidden fruit incident; and we're talking about a lot more than only dress
codes. (Rom 5:12)

Heb 9:11-12a . .When Christ came as high priest of the good things that
are already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle
that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation. He did not
enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most
Holy Place once for all by his own blood,

There are some who feel that the new covenant hasn't been activated yet;
that it won't be activated till sometime in the future. But the writer said
Christ came as a high priest of the good things that are "already here".

The holy place in the earthly tabernacle got polluted by the presence of a
human being-- no doubt at least in part because of Man's inherently corrupt
conscience --so Aaron had to purify it with blood during the course of his
duties in the ritual of Yom Kippur.

The old covenant's tabernacle is a characterization of the temple in Heaven;
therefore the Most Holy Place itself had to be purified with blood so Jesus
could enter it. But the blood of a brute beast isn't near valuable enough for
that purpose because the temple in Heaven is far more sacred than the old
covenant's; requiring that the holy place above be purified with better blood
than that of an animal. Well the best blood is that of a human being because
Man was created in the image of God; whereas animals weren't.

* Seeing as how high priests are taken from among men, then it was
necessary that the high priest in Heaven be a man; which serves to
emphasize at least one of the reasons why Jesus' crucified dead body had to
be restored to life. He could hardly officiate as a high priest in Heaven were
he dead.

Heb 9:12b . . having obtained eternal redemption.

The Greek word for redemption is lutrosis (loo'-tro-sis); which means: a
ransoming.

Jesus' blood is of such a high value that God's son needed to offer himself as
a ransom for his constituents only just the one time. So for the people of
God who are under the new covenant, there is no annual day of atonement
because Jesus' blood was sufficient to clear the way for the them to
associate with God permanently instead of just once a year in the person of
their high priest.

Heb 9:13-14 . .The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer
sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they
are outwardly clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who
through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our
consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living
God!

The Greek word translated "consciences" is from suneidesis (soon-i'-day-sis)
and means perception; viz: self awareness; defined as knowledge and
awareness of one's own personality and/or character, i.e. introspection.

The word "cleanse" can be misleading. Jesus' blood doesn't actually remove
a man's natural self awareness and replace it with an improved version. A
better word than cleanse is absolve. Absolution is defined as: to set free
from an obligation or the consequences of guilt. Thus, Jesus' blood not only
absolves his people's acts of sin, but also absolves the false opinions they
hold of themselves. There are no services anything like that in the old
covenant's qorbanot system.

By His Stripes they are healed/ saved !

1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Sure Peter is writing to believers, that needs be since without believing, their is no evidence that Christ death saved or healed you.

Stripes in this verse goes without saying means His Death it is a Synecdoche, and it effects healing or saving !

The greek word for healed here is iaomai and means:

I.
to cure, heal

II.
to make whole
A.
to free from errors and sins, to bring about (one's) salvation

Here are verses as it , the word heal pertains to Salvation/ Conversion :

Matt 13:15

15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Jn 12:40

40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Acts 28:27

27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

The english word healed means :

to free from evil; cleanse; purify: to heal the soul.

Also the word saved here Eph 2:5

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved )

The greek word here is sōzō and means:

I.to save, keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction
A.
one (from injury or peril)
i.
to save a suffering one (from perishing), i.e. one suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health

So Peter here in 1 Pet 2:24 is saying without question to believers, your conversion to God, your Salvation is the healing effects of His Stripes for you, or His Death for you !

Those Christ died for, His Stripes alone saved them from their sins, its penalty, its power because it effects your conversion to God, and so for this cause, the Gospel is sent to such to inform them of their Salvation, so to them it is the Gospel of their Salvation plain and simple Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

The Gospel of ones Salvation is logically sent to those whom Christ's stripes healed or saved, for that is why it is the Gospel of their Salvation ! And they hear it because they have ears to hear Matt 13:15

15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Paul said they heard the word of Truth Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

The word heard here in Eph 1:13 is the same word for hear in Matt 13:15

But only the Healed one from Christ's Stripes 1 Pet 2:24 shall hear the Gospel of their Salvation to convert them !

1 Pet 2:24 very damaging to the antichrist lie that Christ's death/ stripes alone does not cause ones Salvation, Conversion experience ! 22

With His Stripes ye are healed !

1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

This scripture, perhaps more than any other, does inform us of the effects of the Death of Christ alone , for all whom He died, Tasted Death for Heb 2:9 for that is what stripes stand for, His Death, and by that the Inspired Apostle wrote " Ye are Healed " , which in its complete sense means " Ye were saved" ! The word healed here iaomai means:

I.
to cure, heal

II.
to make whole
A.
to free from errors and sins, to bring about (one's) salvation

To Bring about something means:

to produce as an effect; bring about; accomplish; make happen

So its plainly being stated by Inspiration that Christ's Stripes, meaning His Death produced, and effected your Salvation, made you whole !

This cannot be denied without grave and serious consequences !

1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

This scripture, perhaps more than any other, does inform us of the effects of the Death of Christ alone , for all whom He died, Tasted Death for Heb 2:9
Here we see the very common Calvinist error; taking "all" in Heb 2:9 and forcing it to mean "all for whom He died", which the verse does not say. But, in order for Calvinists to maintain their internal consistency, they MUST insist that Jesus Christ only died for some.

Yet, Scripture is so clear. He died for everyone. All persons. So that everyone is able to be saved, even though many refuse to be saved.

Because Jesus died for everyone, yet we know the Bible also says that many will be cast into the lake of fire because they never believed, it is clear that His death doesn't save. So why did He go to the cross then?

God the Father demands justice. Justice was satisfied (propitiated) when God the Father judged His Son as the substitute for mankind.

Once God's Justice was satisfied, God the Father is free to save humans on the basis of GRACE. No one earns salvation. No one deserves salvation. But Eph 2:8 says that man is saved by grace through faith. Faith is the simple act of trusting in the work and Person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, on the cross.

This is why 1 Tim 2:3-6 was written:

3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth
.
5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,
6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people
. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

And, to be clear, in the Greek, the word "pas" which means "all" doesn't include anything after it, not even "people".

This PREVENTS the Calvinists from claiming that "all" here means "all KINDS OF people".

The verse says "who gave Himself as a ransom for ALL". Very clear.

Calvinists do not believe what Scripture says about who Jesus Christ died for. He died for all. That means everyone.

Their theology is internally consistent but externally very inconsistent with Scripture.

With His Stripes ye are healed !2

The healing that is effected of 1 Pet 2:24 has its impetus in the forgiveness of sins, The Psalmist wrote Ps 103:3

3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Healing follows Forgiveness of sins for it is a Major Benefit of having Christ die for you, its congruous.

Now the healing which accompanies the forgiveness heals our backsliding, or our departure/s from God as stated here Hosea 14: 2-4

2 Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

That word for heal is rapha' = I.to heal, make healthful

Its to heal their backsliding, the word meshubah and means:

faithless, turning back, apostasy

Remember Isa 53:6

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Well He heals that going astray, that turning to our own way and again it is declared Vs 5

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

It comes because, He was wounded for Our Transgression, because Our Iniquity was laid upon Him, that produces a healing from faithlessness or unbelief ! Unbelief caused the departure from God Heb 3:12

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Thats what Adam and Eve did in the garden because of the serpent !

Back to our text, what prededed the promise to heal the backslididng ? Look at Hos 14:2

2 Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

Dosent that Look to this Isa 53:6

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

And what does Christ do with them after they are laid on Him ? Ps 103:12

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

That word removed here rachaq means:

I.
to be or become far, be or become distant, be removed, go far away
A.
(Qal) to be far, be distant

B.
(Piel) to send far away, extend

C.
(Hiphil)
i.
to make or exhibit distance, be gone far

ii.
to remove, put far away

II.
(Niphal) loose

John the Baptist speaks of it here Jn 1:29

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The words taketh away here mean I.to raise up, elevate, lift up
A.
to raise from the ground, take up: stones

B.
to raise upwards, elevate, lift up: the hand

And the words take away here Hos 14:2

2 Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

Those words mean also :

to lift, carry, take

The taking away of sin and receiving us graciously speaks to the reconciliation that is effected in the Death of Christ Rom 5:10 !

All for whom Christ has died has a clean slate before God's Law and Justice, and so the vital application of the healing takes effect, which heals our backsliding in adam, or our turning to our own way Isa 53:6. This healing gives us repentance toward God and Faith in Jesus Christ.

God's anger has been turned away ! How so ? By the propitiation of Christ 1 Jn 2:2 and that brings healing

Even as Christ Loved the Church for what purpose ?

Eph 5:25,26,27

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.22

Now the Church that Christ Loved and gave Himself for, is a World of Individuals, and He had a purpose to effect in doing it, for it was not for nought or chance that He Loved them and Gave Himself , but it was for the purose of the flollowing results to be accomplished, beginning in Vs 26 with the Hina purpose clause indicator which means :

in order that, so that.

hína (a subordinating conjunction) – for the purpose that (in order that), looking to the aim (intended result) of the verbal idea. 2443 /hína ("for the purpose that") is "the semantically marked (dramatic) way of expressing purpose in Greek (as compared for example to the plain infinitive)" (G. Archer).

That purpose and result being Vs 26

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

This speaks to sanctification or being set apart, it speaks of cleansing. The word for cleanse is the greek word katharizó:

I cleanse, make clean, literally, ceremonially, or spiritually, according to context.

So Vs 26 plainly tells us what purpose Christ's death effects unto the Church, its sanctification and cleansing by the Blood and Word !

Now listen, if that effect does not come into realization for all the members of His Body the Church, then quite frankly, the Loving it and giving Himself for it, does fail the Divine Purpose !

The blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sin !

1 Jn 1:7

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Good News if Christ died for us, shed His Blood for us, if so, the promise is this" The blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sin !"

Its no ifs, buts or maybes if indeed He shed His Blood for us, even if when we walk without the knowledge of it and walk in darkness to it !

Who is the Us here that the blood of Christ cleanses from ALL SIN ?

Again, its everyone Christ shed His Blood for, it cleanses them from all sin; Its the same blessed Truth taught here Heb 1:3

3 Who[His Son] being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

Now before He sat down, it is stated that He, BY HIMSELF purged our sins

That word purge in the original katharismos:

I.a cleansing, purification, a ritual purgation or washing
A.
of the washing of the Jews before and after their meals

B.
of levitical purification of women after childbirth

C.
a cleansing from the guilt of sins wrought by the expiatory sacrifice of Christ

And its the same word found in 1 Jn 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. Here its just in the verb form whereas above its the Noun form !

And this goes to prove, that all for whom He died, shed His Blood in behalf of, His Blood cleansed them from all sin, which legally absolved them from all sin, condemnation, guilt and penalty before God's Law and Justice, therefore by virtue of His Blood alone, they are Justified from all things, and are totally dead to the Law, by the Body of Christ, when this is True, no sin can be imputed, because the strength of sin is out of the Law 1 Cor 15:56

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

This also means that all for whom the Blood was shed must be delivered out of all kinds of death ! 22

Christ's Covenant Death delivered from death !

Christ's Covenant Death, delivered all for whom He died from/out of death, hell the second death, remember the Covenant Heads words here Rev 1:18

18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Also Matt 5:22,29,30; 10:28; 18:9;23:33, hence none for whom Christ died can be cast into hell. His death for them, a Covenant death, and its the blood of the Covenant Zech 9:11

11 As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.

The same blood as here Matt 26:28

28 For this is my blood of the new testament or covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Remission of sins by the Covenant blood is remission of death, for death is but the wages of sin Rom 6:23a

Christ's victorious Covenant Death and Blood hath won for all He died, the Many a abolishment of death, which should bring their immortality to light through the Gospel 2 Tim 1:10

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

That word abolish means to:

I.to render idle, unemployed, inactivate, inoperative
A.
to cause a person or thing to have no further efficiency

B.
to deprive of force, influence, power

Death can no more reign over them Rom 5:21 and hell is but the servant of the second death Rev 20:14

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Mk 9:43

And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

None for whom Christ died shall be cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death, else the Covenant death of Christ and its accomplishment is a lie Zech 9:11

11 As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.

Job 33:24

Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

bf52, have you considered what the Bible says about who Christ died for?

1 Pet 3:18 - For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

Christ is the righteous. So, who is "the unrighteous"? If ONLY the elect, then Christ didn't need to die for your so-called non-elect, since they wouldn't be "the unrighteous".

So your theology is really just universalism, with a calvinist twist.

The Bible is clear about who is unrighteous. That would be everyone.

Rom 3-
9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.
10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;
20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Rom 5:6 - You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

bf52, are you willing to argue that ONLY "the elect" are ungodly? Or, are you willing to accept that all of mankind are ungodly?

You can't have it both ways.

Both "the unrighteous" and "the ungodly" describes the WHOLE human race, not just part of the human race.

Conclusion: Christ died for everyone. Everyone is unrighteous and ungodly until born again.

Yes, Gods Elect ! And by His death for them, He accomplished their full Salvation !

Yes, Gods Elect ! And by His death for them, He accomplished their full Salvation !
OK, so then, by your own words and agreement, you believe that "the unrighteous" means ONLY "the elect". Interesting.

But of course, you would HAVE TO agree to that. But what you then cannot explain (or dig yourself out of your own hole) is if ONLY "the elect" are unrighteous, then all the "non-elect" would be righteous.

You can't have it both ways. The Bible's words won't let you. If Christ died for "the unrighteous" that wording means ALL of them. And by claiming that ALL of them are unrighteous, then the ONLY OPTION left for you is that ALL the "non-elect" aren't unrighteous, and therefore, ARE righteous, and not in need of salvation. Way to go.

And that results in universalism. Christ died for the unrighteous and didn't need to die for the righteous. And that's the entire human race.

It redeemed those He died for from Unbelief !

By the Cross of Christ, all for whom He died, He redeemed them from unbelief, for unbelief is nothing but a prison for sin. God imprisoned the Elect who sinned in Adam to unbelief, that’s what is stated here Rom 11:32

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

This word concluded in the greek is sugkleió and means:

I enclose, shut in, make subject to, to shut together, i.e. enclose
to shut up on all sides, shut up completely
;τινα εἰς τινα or τί, so to deliver one up to the power of a person or thing that he is completely shut in, as it were, without means of escape:

Now by nature, because of sin, all God’s People are delivered to the power of satan and by that unbelief. For proof of this we read 2 Cor 4:3-4

3 But if our gospel be hid, itis hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the mindsof them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Believe not or unbelief, they’re the same, and its satans power granted by God , to hold all men by nature in unbelief. Jesus gives one of the reasons why men do not believe and be saved here Luke 8:12

12 Those by the way side arethey that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

So unbelief is the result of Satan’s, the devils power prevailing over its victim and prisoner !

But by the Cross, all for whom Christ died, it redeems them from Satan’s prison of unbelief 1 Pet 1:18

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers which was in unbelief;

Remember Paul said that in his former conversation as a religous Pharisee, how that he persecuted the Church of God ? He stated that he did it ignorantly in unbelief 1 Tim 1:13

13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Remember that was his former conversation or manner of life Gal 1:13

For ye have heard of my conversationin time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

At that time he was in unbelief, but the blood of Christ redeems from that manner of life ! Now the word for redeemed in 1 Pet 1:18 is the greek word lutroó :

I release on receipt of ransom; mid: I redeem, release by paying ransom, liberate.

Those whom the blood was shed in behalf of are released, liberated from satans prison of unbelief,

So to say that one Christ died for can possibly die in their sins in unbelief Jn 8:24, it is to admit failure and defeat to the Redeeming Blood of Christ, it is to give the victory to the devil over Christ’s Cross, its saying that Christ’s Cross Work could not and did not save from that manner of life of unbelief and ignorance as it did Paul 1 Tim 1:13, and that is repugnant !
