When considering Revelation prophecy, you have to "back up" and see/view it from a "wide-angle long-time" scale of things.

Unlike what most people seem to want to believe, the whole of the prophecy is not relegated to a short period of time (i.e. - 7 years or less); rather, it involves a much larger portion of human history - namely, the period of human history between the first and second comings of Christ.

The 'proof' that you seek lies in having this understanding accompanied by the alignment of the propecy with this [larger] period of history.

The following two views are both in error because they believe the whole of the prophecy to be contained in a short period of time:

~ all of the prophecy is past
~ all of the prophecy is future

In truth - some is past and some is future.

The thing that keeps people in error is not letting go of that highly-focused short-term mentality.

You must be able to "back up" (in your mind's eye view) and look at it on God's time scale. Otherwise, you will miss the whole picture - accepting instead a man-made idea with mangled scripture wrapped around it to make it seem like a nice tidy package that is preferred to be believed. But, it is not the truth.

Because people want [too much] to see all of End Times biblical prophecy in the short term - they will invariably and systematically remain in error.

Until the prophecy is approached with the proper time scale, the "true picture" will not be seen.
The Bible does say it is relegated to a short period of time, such as:

Revelation 13:5
And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months.

Revelation 11:3
And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

Perhaps someone else well-versed in the end times can explain where we are on the spectrum of end times. Are we in the tribulation right now?
No. We are not in the Tribulation period (3 1/2 years) which is directly associated with the reign of the Antichrist (in fact the reign of Satan for that period of time). The Antichrist has been allotted 42 months for his nefarious reign, which is also expressed as 1260 days or "time, times, and half a time" (or the dividing of time) in the Bible. Both Daniel and Revelation show this limitation.

However, the world is being conditioned to accept the reign and total domination of the Beast (the Antichrist) who will have absolute control over all the inhabitants of the earth for that period of time. That is when the actual Mark of the Beast will go into effect. But the bogus COVID vaccines are a precursor to that Mark. And so is the establishment of police states worldwide.

What is truly amazing is that the whole so-called "free world " has gladly submitted to Totalitarianism through COVID Tyranny. And even though there is absolutely to scientific basis for everything connected with the bogus pandemic, absolutely no government has demanded an explanation for this madness.

In fact, every government has embraced and exploited this situation. Even Florida, which rejected the lockdowns, is now encouraging bogus vaccinations. Does that make any sense? Travel (worldwide) will be restricted to those who have vaccine passports, even though the so-called vaccines are not only worthless but dangerous, At the same time Central Americans and Mexicans are flooding the USA without a care in the world. And being treated like royalty (Meghan Markle take note).

In your first example, the time span is actually 1260 years. It is the "first beast" - the RCC - which "ruled the world" for exactly 1260 years - from 538 to 1798. This is past history.

In your second example, the time span is actually 1260 days. It is the Two Witnesses. This is future.

Revelation prophecy - some past, some future.

Where you see the word 'days' used, it is actual days.

Where you see '42 months' mentioned in Revelation 11:2 and 13:5, it is in [Jewish] year-days. (1260 years)

Where you see 'time, times, and half' mentioned in Daniel 7:25 and 12:7 - and in Revelation 12:14 - it is in [Jewish] year-days. (1260 years)

Again, what is the proof for this? You just say it is.

I could just say the 1260 days is actually 1260 weeks.

Based on the kind of 'proof' you seem to be looking for (the 'courtroom' variety not based on faith) - at some point, the only answer I will have for you is that "God showed it to me" (or, helped me to understand it).

A lot of it has to do with the 'minor' details that people tend to overlook. Some of it comes directly out of the 'grammar of the language'.

I will see about explaining this further with an example. Please be patient.

You will understand in time...

(Your denial of the proper interpretation of Daniel 9:24-27 will, in time, show forth its error.)

No harshness intended, brother.

Just trying to encourage you to take another look at the passage.
Methinks yer full a horse chestnuts, but me loves ya, brother. At least we both agree that we must keep our lamps trimmed and burnin and be prayin one fer another.:):coffee:

I don't really understand why we rush to understand the book of revelation once we start expericing difficulty or localised political/social issues.
Makes me wonder what the citizens of Europe might of been thinking/feeling when entire cities across a continent were bombed to kingdom come during WW1 and WW2

I admit that although I've studied Scripture for over 40 years that I still don't know Revelations well. That's all changing fast and I'm scrambling to learn it.

That said, I know enough that I can see the Beast system arising around us. I not only see it - I sense its evil. Has anyone else had this uneasy feeling? We are now in a Police State. Police have been militarized (are tanks and takers and war equipment necessary against the American people?) and every day we read of accounts of police badly abusing and killing innocent citizens. This was perhaps driven home more to me since I experienced it: police shot to death my neighbors unarmed grandson. I learned about how they protect their own. A judge threw the family's lawsuit out - most likely because he was white. Blacks do have an advantage because they stick together and there is an uproar if a black is abused or killed. It still goes on unabated however as I spoke with a young black man in the hospital who told me that he and his friends are constantly abused by police. Very nice young man. It made me sick.

Not only that but my brother was beat up and robbed by police and my friend's daughter was sexually assaulted by them. They are now a system of thuggery in some places. So we have a beast system built around us and if you haven't experienced it yet...you will. Matt Agorist at The Free Thought Project carries unbelievable stories of police abuse of citizens. I'd like to make a point here that >>>this is a sign of a Nazi-like regime where the citizens have no power against the beast system.

Next there is technocracy: everything you say and do is captured by the beast government to use against you later. Cameras record many of your activities, license-plate readers record your whereabouts, and the coming ID 2020 will control even more.

The idea is that the state - or beat system - can turn off your access to money if you don't comply with the beast.

Chuck Baldwin said this is going to be a difficult year ahead: 2021. We'll be facing the beast.

Perhaps someone else well-versed in the end times can explain where we are on the spectrum of end times. Are we in the tribulation right now?
I agree with you in that, the world is being set up in preparation for that coming antichrist/beast. We already see the mark of the beast technology evolving via electronic buying and selling. However, prior to the tribulation period, which is the time of God's wrath, the One who is now restraining must be taken out of the way and the church must be removed from the earth. The reason for this, is that individuals within the church are not appointed to suffer God's coming wrath, which is initiated by the opening of the first seal, followed by the trumpets and bowl judgments.

Looking at what is going on right now, I can't imagine what the world will be like once the Holy Spirit is taken out of the way, which will open up the flood gates for the full force of sin and the emergence of the man of sin.

It is the Lamb/Jesus who will be opening the seals, which will lead into the trumpets and bowls. This means that He will be responsible for all of the destruction and death resulting from these plagues of wrath. Jesus is after all, will be the One who treads the winepress of the wrath of God Almighty.

The gathering of the church is next and must take place prior to that first seal being opened. So, no! We have not entered into that last seven years, but it is getting very close!

Any time is a good time (up until it is just plain too late... dead people don't rush very well).

Hello Breno785au!

The simple answer to your question, is that God wants us to know and study the information in the book of Revelation, for He says:

=======================================================

"The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His servants the things which must take place in quickness."

"Blessed is the one reading, and those hearing the words of the prophecy, and keeping the things having been written in it; for the time is near."

"I testify to everyone who hears the words of prophecy in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and the holy city, which are described in this book."

=======================================================

It's an important book that God wants us to know and to keep/guard the words of this prophesy and to warn others of God's coming wrath and how to escape it.

So yes! Let us rush in to understand the book of Revelation and all related information.

No generation has had the mark of the beast technology emerge as this generation has, which tells us that we are very close to the Lord's appearing to gather His church.

All previous wars and troubles will be pale greatly in comparison to the coming plagues of wrath that are going to take place during the tribulation period, leading up to the Lord's return to the earth to end the age.

Based on my research we are most likely in a period known as the "beginning of birth pains" or "beginning of sorrows" referenced in Matthew 24.

I'll post a short essay on it explaining why.

I believe that we are the time of sorrows myself.
Always remember God is on the throne and in comtrol.
Its time for the church to wake up and start working night will be here very soon when no one can work.

A lot of it has to do with the 'minor' details that people tend to overlook. Some of it comes directly out of the 'grammar of the language'.

I will see about explaining this further with an example. Please be patient.
Before I get to this, I want to do something else first...

Revelation 12

v1-5 The woman is Israel. The child is Jesus. The dragon is the devil.

v6 circa 70 A.D. protection of Israel

v11 early church period (first few centuries)

v14-16 God protects Israel through the Dark Ages (with illustration)

v17 the remnant is 'the church' (the real church, not the RCC - which didn't exist yet anyway)

Revelation 13

v1-4 the rise of the RCC (started by Constantine) [overview]

v5 the 'mouth' is the Papacy; RCC "ruled the world" for 1260 years

v7 Dark Ages; torture and murder of saints

v8 is an 'aside' that is looking forward in time

(note the shift in tense from 'past' in verse 7 to 'future' in verse 8)

Verse 8 is 'future' relative to verse 7.

The rest of this chapter is a mix of past-present-future.

Thanks, I would love to see an example of this. That is exactly what I had in mind with the word 'proof'. As in are there verifiable cases of this in the Scripture elsewhere.

The Bible does say it is relegated to a short period of time, such as:

Revelation 13:5

Revelation 11:3

Yes.

God expressed this unique period of time in years, days, and months, in various places of Scripture, just so we wouldn’t try to allegorize or claim it happened in the past.
