Hello,

I am not a Christian first of all. You can read my other introductory thread to learn more about that. But briefly I love God but follow no religion or recognized spiritual path. Nor do I follow any books.

I am curious, I think the bible has some lovely passages in it but I do not believe it is the work of God. The authorship of the bible was not by the people in which the books were titled nor where they even in the same time period. Over the years there have been over 300,000 disputed translation points in the accepted books of the bible not to mention the left out gnostic gospels. The first complete NT dates to 4th century. Some of the letters were not even written by whom the bible claims wrote them (e.g. 1 Timothy).

Why do Christians hold to it being the inerrant infallible word of God?
