He spoke to me: “Son of man, look with your eyes, listen with your ears, and pay attention to everything I am going to show you,
for you have been brought here so that I might show it to you. Report everything you see to the house of Israel.”

5 Behold, there was a wall on the outside of the house all around, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed six cubits[a] long, of a cubit and a hand width each. So he measured the thickness of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed

Then he came to the gate which looks toward the east, and went up its steps. He measured the threshold of the gate,
one reed wide; and the other threshold, one reed wide.

of the gate by the vestibule of the gate at the inner end, one reed.

was at the inner end.

And there were three side rooms on either side of the east gate. The three were of the same size, and the jambs on
either side were of the same size.

The recesses and their pilasters had windows, with shutters on the inside of the gateway all round, and the vestibules
also had windows on the inside all round; and on the pilasters were palm trees.

Then he brought me into the outer courtyard, and behold, there were chambers and a stone pavement made for the courtyard
all around; thirty chambers faced the pavement.

And the pavement (that is, the lower pavement) was by the side of the gates, corresponding to the length of the gates.

a hundred cubits on the east and on the north.

It had three guardrooms on each side; and its side pillars and its porches had the same measurement as the first gate.
Its length was fifty cubits, and the width twenty-five cubits.

Its windows, its porches, and its palm tree decorations had the same measurements as the gate which faced east;
and it was reached by seven steps, and its porch was in front of them.

The inner courtyard had a gate opposite the gate on the north as well as the gate on the east; and he measured
a hundred cubits from gate to gate.
