We understand is that a curse or blessing were both kept by God’s power; not mans. Many curses (and blessings) were spoken directly by God or through his servants prophetically.
In the Old Testament they were told to bring up your child in the way of the Lord, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). God's Word gives us the instructions and guidance to have His blessing continue. In the Old Testament He commanded His people to teach His Word to their children throughout the day (Deut. 6:6-9). Even in the New Testament Paul wrote: “Fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4).
