one wonders why bother speaking of the scriptures to the "un-elect" at all if scriptures is not for them.

your logic is circular and not based upon the Bible but upon your personal "feelings' and redefinition of the words "elect" and "timely salvation"

The gnostic tendency is rather revolting.

your insistence in redefining words.... well... making your own sparks must be nice...

well a warning perhaps...

Isaiah 50:11
Look, all you who kindle a fire, Who encircle yourselves with sparks: Walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks you have kindled— This you shall have from My hand: You shall lie down in torment.
All scripture must harmonise before you understand the truth. Does all scriptures harmonise with your belief?

Repent means to turn away
Ezekiel 14:6
(6) Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

When we repent we turn away from sin and turn to God, so that He can work in us.
Agree! It is a command given by Jesus Christ Himself and by the apostles that we should repent.

Repentance is change in mind that leads to a change in conduct. When we turn away from our sins, there is changes in our mind. we realize the badness of the sin and the damage it has. Then we start turning to God. Here comes the changes in our conduct. as we turn to God we admit our lostness and start to seek God and to follow Jesus Christ which will lead to gradual holiness as we live, walk and decide by faith everyday. This changes our character from evil to Christ-like character.

Here is the parable that Jesus Preach
[h=3]Matthew 21:28-32[/h]28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

- Why Jesus will tell the people to repent if it is not necessary for them to that?
- Why Jesus will emphasize that the publican (tax collector) and the harlots (Prostitutes) believe John? are they not a sinner like you and me but CHOOSE TO BELIEVE?
