The Chosen is a prime example of the fact that people will watch anything simply because it's on TV. The popularity of the show doesn't bode well for the state of spiritual health or awareness on the part of modern "Christianity."

People should really look into who's behind it and their motives. If you have a shred of discernment left you might change your mind about The Chosen.

Is it Biblically accurate? That’s always been my thing with motion pictures that attempt to portray the Bible. Furthermore, is it trying to reach the unsaved? Any Christian show with a large audience should always be trying to preach the gospel of Christ as much as possible.

Imagine if you ran for office of the presidency of the US and won. Would you use it to preach the gospel nonstop to the world at any given chance or not? I see it as a similar opportunity.

On a suggestion from a friend of mine I started watching this series.

So...I have thoughts but wanted to hear yours on the subject.

What do you think of the series?
about 5 days ago i was viewing the Topics list and found this Thread. having no idea what this was all about i began reading the Thread until i finished all 9 pages. then i began watching the Series Itself. just finished Season 2 but having issue locating season 3.

what do i think about what i have seen is the question at hand?

from reading a [few] people's post, i can see every member of the Pharisee's in the Series [but Nicodemus and his one student] are well represented between those Members within this Thread.

is it word for word by the Word of God? the Theme is most definitely, but the stories within the Story has many unscripted ideologies.
does that make it Satanic? absolutely not!

here's a few Scriptures i am reminded of.

John 14:10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own; but the Father dwelling in Me does His works.

so the scene with Jesus and Matthew writing down the Sermon on the Mount is clearly imagination even though the Gospel of Matthew is most known for this Version. so it was an interesting touch of choreography at its finest.

but the other stories within the Story are quite entertaining.

Jesus with Nicodemus
the Ethiopian Woman and the crippled man and later on them Testifying of the Miracle + the Leprosy healing
Ethiopian Woman and Jesus speaking in her Native Language
Simon the Zealot has been entertaining
Mary Magdalene is quite colorful
Simon and Andrew fighting like Real Brothers would
James and John clearly look like sons of Thunder in their Zeal to kill the Enemy
each story line of the Disciples before becoming Disciples
Matthew coming off more like someone who is Autistic and Thomas seems touched with Asperger's.
John's Disciple Philip being more enlightened
James having his health issue
even the interaction between Jesus and his cousin John
^
is this what we read in the Bible?
NO!
but it also doesn't mean it's incorrect either.
we were not there to know any of these people. truth be told, Jesus picked people we would not pick if we were selecting a pick-up game of dodge ball. we are never told direct specifics because the Bible Version is about more of who they came to be in Christ.

and that reminds me of this Scripture:
John 21:25 There are also many other things that Yeshua did. If all of them were to be written one by one, I suppose that not even the world itself will have room for the books being written!
^
i would also include we read each time Jesus healed He said Go, and tell no one. but we know how people are and we know without it being written down they did Go, but they [[((DID TELL EVERYONE))]].
^
so this Series, The Chosen, is not a far cry of imagination when we see the Ethiopian Woman Testifying, Jesse brother of Simon the Zealot Testifying, and as the Series continues into all 7 Seasons, i am sure more will be Testifying. and there's no doubt that factually happened, even if the characters in this Series weren't the real ones doing it.

i see no harm in this Series.
if anyone does, i suggest we look at all of their Doctrines, Philosophies, and Personal Beliefs. i bet the trash unveiled would be MORE disgraceful than anything i've witnessed within this Series!

definitely looking forward to Season 3!

something else i am enjoying about this Version of Jesus within this Series is because it matches His human identity.

these 4 Verses explain everything:

because of this Verse:
Philippians 2:
7 But He [[((emptied))]] Himself—
taking on the form of a slave,
becoming the likeness of men
and being found in appearance as a man.

these 3 Verses are absolutely necessary!

John 14:10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own; but the Father dwelling in Me does His works.
and
Matthew 12:28 But if I drive out demons by the Ruach Elohim, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
equals
Colossians 2:9 For all the fullness of Deity lives bodily in Him.

Just saw this on Facebook. There are numerous testimonies of how the Chosen, by God's Grace, has led Souls to give their lives/souls to Christ.

""This was the scene that broke me. Others had opened cracks, but this one broke me. I was recently divorced from a 45-year abusive marriage and rejected by religious people because of that. I almost died from severe health issues and all the abuse and stress. I had been a worship leader, and oh how I loved to sing to the Lord. But the final straw...I completely lost my singing voice and the thing I had believed for years that God wanted me to do was gone. I was completely lost, and the pain was so deep I thought I was dying. I would sit on the floor and just scream, 'God, do you see me? Do you even care anymore?' I didn't think anyone else had ever felt that as deeply as what I was going through. Then, The Chosen. When that scene came on, I'm not kidding...I hit the floor and just sobbed and let all that pain and fear come out. And when it was brought to such life when Jesus said, 'I saw you'...please believe me...this show is saving lives. It saved mine. Believe it." - Jani G "

So, I have to get up for work in a few hours, and the Lord literally just awoke me from my sleep with this realization:

"And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him." (Matthew 9:9)

MATTHEW WASN'T EVEN CALLED TO FOLLOW JESUS UNTIL AFTER THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT HAD BEEN PREACHED (MATTHEW CHAPTERS 5 THROUGH 7), AND THIS HERETIC HAS MATTHEW REWRITING THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT AS ONE OF JESUS' DISCIPLES.

Got it, yet?!?

As I've been saying all along, "The Chosen" is a pile of Satanically-inspired TRASH!

Well, back to bed for me...
i sincerely DOUBT IT WAS ALMIGHTY GOD who spoke to you.

Look at the Gospel of Mark

Chapter 3 Verse 13 Now He climbs up on the mountain and calls those He Himself wanted, and they came to Him. 14 He appointed twelve (whom He also named emissaries), so that they might be with Him and He might send them to proclaim the Good News, 15 and to have power to drive out demons. 16 And He appointed the Twelve: to Simon He gave the name Peter; 17 to Jacob and his brother John, the sons of Zebedee, He gave the name Boanerges, which is Sons of Thunder; 18 and Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, Jacob the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot; 19 and Judah from Kriot, who also betrayed Him.

Sermon on the Mount

EVERY ONE THAT IS IN GOD AND GOD IS IN THEM knows Mark Chapter 7, which is 4 Chapters [[AFTER the Naming of the 12 Disciples]] is the [[((SAME))]] Sermon on the Mount.

take your DECEPTION somewhere else!

My mom said the scene where Jesus tells Mary, "This [alcohol] is not for you and when she persisted and tried to run away, He followed her and called her by name...that scene moved her. That He will pursue and He knows us. She cries every time she sees that part.

Indeed. This is a touching scene for me too.

Where is it referenced in scripture?

Where is it referenced in scripture?
Matthew 18:12 “What do you think? If a certain man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, won’t he leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go looking for the one that is straying? 13 And if he finds it, amen I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t stray. 14 Even so, it’s not the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.”

What does that have to do with the scene in the show?

what happens in the scene can be applied to Yeshua going after His lost sheep.
I wouldn’t worry about convincing other Christians if they don’t like this series.
As you might know this series has been a global phenomenon in turning people to The Lord. Many atheists have actually converted and it is now seen by 400 million people worldwide.
I can’t wait for Season 3. I’m hoping it will be released in Fall or late Fall.
