ember, i gotta think about the rest of this some more, but about this part --

...do you see yourself reflected on the water Jesus walked on?
i know Peter started sinking when He took His eyes off Jesus & turned his attention to the wind and the waves.
i sink when i start looking at my own reflection, and i stand when i concentrate on the light that makes up the image :)

yeah, yuh know, that just popped into my mind as I was finishing up my post...I get these little pictures in my mind...as a visual artist I guess that makes sense...it was like I 'saw' Jesus looking straight at me...on the water...and then sweeping His hand across the water which was like a mirror and I looked into it

I hope no one thinks I am saying I had a vision...I just find that the Holy Spirit inspires us to understand in a way that is personal to us and for me, this works!

I understood as you say Peter started to sink when he took his eyes off Jesus and then what you say about looking at your own image

seems you plugged in to what I 'saw'...it fits...and I agree

thanks!

and please do think about the constrants and your formula...no math whiz here, but I understood what you wrote and I think it is an interesting 'puzzle' (puzzle the right word?...don't know)

now I am going to get controversial again...to thine own self be true....probably just the little whirly gigs between my ears spin too quickly or something, but.....

num...uh...no...rape is no form of love yet there are different forms of rape...raping the land being one
That's kinda the point. What was being presented as "love" was anything but.

I stated this:

people play games of love...all the time

getting back to the idea of

which was answered by

which led to

which led to me thinking

and then a whole bunch of you are a whacko stuff was flung around

but I would like to get back to the constraints and what God expects and what is love how we see it and return it...without trite put the kid to bed it's past their bedtime answers?
Does God have "expectations"? Love is the character of God (1 Jn 4:8,16) and always seeks the highest good of the other.

Not really that interested in constraints. It's just the way it is. We are not the Creator. We are created, contingent, derivative creatures. By definition, we are limited.

A good post I hate a persons free will being controlled (don't ask me why I don't know I just hate it) and I believe every person has free will and we choose for ourselves what we do whether it is for good or evil BUT the cost of this comes through consequences of our actions an obvious example of this is when lucifer had free will but he then decided to use it to rebel and the consequence was getting sent to hell. So yes we do have free will BUT remember each choice has a consequence so think carefully on your actions if you have to make a big decision

our sister was explaining to me last night how that sin, and suffering, and evil in the world are the result of mankind's agency to choose to turn away from God, toward wickedness instead of righteousness, loving darkness rather than light. how tremendous the cost is of what we call "free will" and are so proud to have.

the Lord paid for this with His own Son's blood.
that 'simple' ability to choose between the wrong and the right, and the necessary consequences of it.
He knew exactly what we cost to have been created and to be loved, and He still paid.

i thought you all might like to talk about this :)
Will man have this same power of FREE WILL the second time He comes back? Will men in general reject Him again or there will not be any chance of rejection or acceptance? Will Christians have to accept Him again as He comes back or they can exercise their free will and some decide not to join Him. Is there any clarity on this subject in the Bible?
