Darkness is a mysterious thing it's like your hypothesized or something, you walk through life like it's normal or safe. Darkness is a kind of light we make make for ourselves and it keeps God out and lets other people or things in. You sleep in the darkness and don't even know your sleeping. Darkness brings empty promises because when you wake you have nothing except the memories. If you sleep too long nothing gets done.
My point is that to some degree or another, many Christians have a sin that is in the background of there lives and they know it but they don't know it. It's like a blindness and God allows this for a time and blesses you and fellowships with you, for a time. And because of this, the sin becomes something acceptable. Then season ends and God convicts you and the heavens turn to brass (well hopefully it doesn't get that bad). I read a verse in the Bible one time, It spoke something like your more blessed going through life knowing you are a sinner and doing bad than being perfect in life and then dieing and finding out you weren't all that great and going to Hell.
One thing I see people do is swear and I don't even know if they know they do it. I once got angry and said the word hell and later two people told me I said the word hell, I had no idea I said it but I must have said it. This isn't one of my weak points I am always careful in what I say especially when i'm angry. Some Christians are not careful at all.
I rebelled against God but at the time I did all kinds of good stuff was better than most Christians (that was what I thought anyway) but life was life and I knew it was wrong but pretended it wasn't there. Looking back I now see how ridiculous it was.
And the darkness the world is in is much greater and easier to see but they don't serve the same master so we just need to focus on our darkness.
