It is sometimes said that once someone comes to know the Lord, they no longer fear Him, but this would be a lie. Proverbs 23:17 says,

17 Do not let your heart envy sinners, But be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day; (Proverbs 23:17)

"[A]ll the day," that is, continually.

14 How blessed is the man who fears always, But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity. (Proverbs 28:14)

38 Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You. (Psalm 119:38)

5 They shall fear You As long as the sun and moon endure, Throughout all generations. (Psalm 72:5)

7 God shall bless us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him. (Psalm 67:7)

15 So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, And all the kings of the earth Your glory. (Psalm 102:15)

23 But when he sees his children, The work of My hands, in his midst, They will hallow My name, And hallow the Holy One of Jacob, And fear the God of Israel. (Isaiah 29:23)

10 "They shall walk after the Lord. He will roar like a lion. When He roars, Then His sons shall come trembling from the west; 11 They shall come trembling like a bird from Egypt, Like a dove from the land of Assyria. And I will let them dwell in their houses," Says the Lord. (Hosea 11:10-11)

17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent; They shall crawl from their holes like snakes of the earth. They shall be afraid of the Lord our God, And shall fear because of You. (Micah 7:17)

"Be afraid of the Lord our God," because,

9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. (Psalm 19:9)

The fear of the Lord endures forever.

That's your prerogative. Nonetheless, scripture teaches otherwise, as shown above.
It doesnt teach CHRISTIANS otherwise.

We revere God as children revere their Father.

But of course with a book as huge as the OT peeps can cherry pick many verses to make a point.

Do you live in fear? Are you terrified of God? Or do you have joy and peace in the Holy Spirit?

Sure it does. Indeed, Christians are the only people the Bible is written to. However, you're begging the question. The whole point of my OP was that the fear of the Lord does apply to Christians (believers), so merely stating the contrary without addressing the verses I posted doesn't do any good.

We revere God as children revere their Father.
There is an element of truth to this, but that doesn't mean it's the whole story, nor does imply that we shouldn't fear Him. Our relationship to God as children to an earthly father is only an analogy, and is therefore only partially accurate.

But of course with a book as huge as the OT peeps can cherry pick many verses to make a point.
The Old Testament (as well as the New) is the Word of God, the very words of God Himself. Every word is true and pure.

5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. (Proverbs 30:5)

30 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. (Psalm 18:30)

31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. (2 Samuel 22:31)

This is what Jesus had to say about it:

4 But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' " (Matthew 4:4)

Keep in mind that Jesus was specifically talking about the Old Testament here, since the New Testament hadn't been written yet (though it applies to both). In fact, the same goes for 2 Timothy 3:16, written by Paul:

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, (2 Timothy 3:16)

Speaking about the Old Testament, Paul makes it very clear that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. Speaking about the Old Testament, Jesus makes it very clear that man shall not live by bread alone by but every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (the Old Testament).

Nonetheless, the fear of the Lord is clearly taught in the New Testament, as well, not just the Old (Romans 3:18).

Do you live in fear?
Yes, but only of the Lord, as do all who possess even the beginning of wisdom or knowledge.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever. (Psalm 111:10)

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)

10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10)

Are you terrified of God?
Most definitely, as was Job, a righteous man, and so should you be.

15 Therefore I am terrified at His presence; When I consider this, I am afraid of Him. 16 For God made my heart weak, And the Almighty terrifies me; (Job 23:15-16)

1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil. (Job 1:1)

Or do you have joy and peace in the Holy Spirit?
False dichotomy.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, which we have as believers. Of course, this fits right in with the fear of the Lord, when properly understood.

26 In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge. (Proverbs 14:26)

7 The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. (Psalm 34:7)

Some years ago, Mick Jagger sang, "I can't get no satisfaction." It was because he didn't fear the Lord.

23 The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil. (Proverbs 19:23)

Some years before that, King David, a man after God's own heart, had satisfaction, because he feared the Lord, and so he sang,

1 A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. (Psalm 23:1)

Exodus 20:20
(20) And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
Proverbs 2:1-5
(1) My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
(2) So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
(3) Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
(4) If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
(5) Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
Revelation 14:7
(7) Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Fear the Lord means revere Him.

It doesnt mean be frightened or scared.

But you carry on being scared if you want. I'll be over here experiencing joy and peace in Christ.

Fear the Lord means revere Him.

It doesnt mean be frightened or scared.
7 You, Yourself, are to be feared; And who may stand in Your presence When once You are angry? (Psalm 76:7)

God is indeed to be feared, but for those who do not believe God (Romans 4:3), "[t]here is no fear of God before their eyes" (Romans 4:3).

What did Jesus have to say about it?

28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28)

To say that this only means to "revere Him," not to "be frightened or scared," is, quite clearly, flat-out ludicrous.

13 "But He is unique, and who can make Him change? And whatever His soul desires, that He does. 14 For He performs what is appointed for me, And many such things are with Him. 15 Therefore I am terrified at His presence; When I consider this, I am afraid of Him. 16 For God made my heart weak, And the Almighty terrifies me; (Job 23:13-16)

Being "terrified at His presence" and "afraid of Him" (Job 23) "doesnt [sic] mean" being "frightened or scared?" Again, that is of course absurd. King Darius said that men "must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel."

26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end. 27 He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. (Daniel 6:26-27)

Is trembling and fearing not true fear? Indeed it is. The Psalmist writes,

120 My flesh trembles for fear of You, And I am afraid of Your judgments. (Psalm 119:120)

Is this the fear of the unbelieving? No, it's made in the context of overwhelming love for God's word (Psalm 119:47-48, 97, 113, 119, 127, 159, 163-165, 167).

2 For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist," Says the Lord. "But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word. (Isaiah 66:2)

Although you say that fear doesn't mean fear, the reality is that (not surprisingly) what fear means is: fear.

There are several words used for the fear of God in the original languages. The most common is the verb yare. This word is used over 330 times and it means actual fear.

Besides being used to be afraid of God (e.g. Genesis 20:8; Exodus 3:6; 2 Samuel 6:9; Psalm 33:8a; 76:7-8; Proverbs 13:13; Ecclesiastes 12:13; Malachi 3:16; 4:2), it's also the fear Jacob had of his brother (Genesis 32:7), the fear Jacob's sons had of their brother Joseph (Genesis 43:18), the fear the Israelites had of the Egyptians (Exodus 14:10), the fear due parents (Leviticus 19:3), the fear of a soldier before a battle (Deuteronomy 20:8), the fear Saul and the Israelites had of Goliath (1 Samuel 17:11, 24), the fear David's men had of the Philistine armies (1 Samuel 23:3), the fear Saul had of the Philistine army (1 Samuel 28:5), the fear Saul's armorbearer had when Saul commanded him to take his sword and kill Saul (1 Samuel 31:4), the fear the rulers of Jezreel had of Jehu (2 Kings 10:4), the fear Jehoshaphat had of the massive army that came against him (2 Chronicles 20:3), the fear Nehemiah had of king Artaxerxes (Nehemiah 2:2), the fear David determined not to have (Psalm 27:1, 3; 56:3-4, 11; 118:6), the fear the sons of Korah determined not to have even though worldwide cataclysmic chaos broke out (Psalm 46:2), the fear Urijah had when King Jehoiakim sought to kill him (Jeremiah 26:21), the fear at the roaring of a lion (Amos 3:8), the fear the mariners had in the midst of the storm (Jonah 1:5, 10), etc.

Redefining the words won't work when we can all see what they really mean.

But you carry on being scared if you want. I'll be over here experiencing joy and peace in Christ.
As already pointed out, that's just a false dichotomy.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling. (Psalm 2:11)

Any OT reference you have of the relationship between God and man is invalid as Christians have God IN US via the Holy Spirit. We have a different relationship.

Any NT references you have mean 'to revere'.

G'day.

We are not told to fear what God CAN DO to us but to fear (revere) GOD HIMSELF.

If you are a Christian you shouldn't be scared of hell, your not going there so whats to be scared of?

You're saved!

Jesus saved you and He wont let you slip through His fingers.

It means to worship him. Love him with all your heart and soul. God does not have hammer ready to slam us if we falls short.
