It's my bedtime. Will get back when I can.

I just know there is two tunes when you read scripture....grace and mercy promised by the Messiah (new covenant)

And the Law that leads us to Christ because the Accusser will always find fault in us.

Do not eat of the tree is the first law given to mankind.

It's a war...Satan wants to show that God is unjust or unloving and to justify his rebellion and win people to his side.

God has a master plan and reveals it via the Bible.

What the enemy doesn't know is the war was won upon the cross.
Dave wilkerson preached a message at times square church "the death of a promise"

truly awesome.

Abraham,Joseph,Moses,David,...and the biggie,Jesus.

these all saw the promise 'die" then come back to life.

The cross was a stepping stone. Not an end all.

We live in resurrection life.We die to the flesh.,but the living is the main component.
The devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Jesus said "but i have come to give life"

yeah ive noticed people dont really use the kjv very often and prefer the newer asb and the different versions. and things, i honestly have found the greek and hebrew to be no different than the kjv text lol spent so much time learning actual hebrew and greek courses at a university and then compoared and realized i had wasted my time hahaha i get what ur saying though, its hard to understand some of the old english words, i find good value in niv and also kjv studies
yah usually in my translation studies I really dont find much of a difference. But sometimes i do come across scripture that one translation truly hits the interpretation right on the head. Like the scripture talking about the seal of the Spirit. The greek language has the word earnest which is a real important word to understand in that context of scripture. The only version that used that word was the kjv.

also where does this fit

hebrews 5:9 "And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;"

GOD gave dominion of the earth to man, after Adam sinned and creation fell, the only way to have a relationship with GOD would be to fulfill the law and GOD only accepts perfection.Although the spirit was willing,no man would be able to fulfill the law because they would be brought Into captivity to the law of sin because of the weakness of the flesh.

GOD cannot be tempted but keep In mind, tempted Is one thing, tested Is what JESUS went through,HE was tested at all points,a perfect sacrifice.

Fully GOD,Fully MAN HE took back the power on earth that GOD gave to man,the righteous way,I know GOD Is sovereign but HE loves righteousness.

HE gave grace to all that believe In HIM and there Is no condemnation to those that are In CHRIST.If the devil points a finger at you,he Is really pointing at CHRIST and CHRIST was a perfect sacrifice.

yep i agree most translations are close, some are a bit off some real close, ive found the kjv to be accurate to my satisfaction so i usually just refer to it if there is a translation issue...turn out ole king james years of work and hundreds of people got it right lol i was so dissapointed i thought when i spent three months in hebrew and greek text classes i would find some revolutionary mess up in tranc=slation that would give a better understanding......then i realized i wasted my time and the universities lol

now days though it does give me confidence moreso when i study. so i guess it helped with any doubts i had that drove me to the university to begin with. and i know im not missing anything different or hidden. i was reading the description of the process king james used, its wuite impressive how thourough he was in getting it right. alot of conspiracy theorists are looking for the secret, but im pretty satisfied that it is what it is especially when the kjv is refered.

i love the niv also i used it most exclusivly for years and would just refer to the kjv, now i find it opposite i use more the kjv and refer back to the niv sometimes it seems to speak different angles both right but different highlights.

honestly no offense, but the attitude that people are unteachable, and the insistance that what you know is the only understanding kind of probably leads to rejection of the things you say maybe consider this if you consider yourself a teacher

2 timothy 2:24-26 "And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will."

i dont mean offens but to approach people with that mindset doesnt seem wise.

can i ask if your interpretation includes obedience to the gospel?
And it is your attitude that I also experienced in the other thread. When you get offended like that ,and you correct them, you are doing what you accuse others of projecting.

I usually post concept for concept.

I offer my concepts. I dig deep. This place is a proving ground for me . if you are hungry, your appetite will ignore the messenger, and devour the truth revelation, and wisdom of others.

If you travel around much, and talk to people, you will find the messenger is what people like, not the message.

The finished work was done at the cross. Remember scripture,Jesus said " It is finished",his last words before he gave up the Ghost. What? you don't believe him.?There was nothing else to do when he rose from the grave. all he did was show himself to his disciples, and the women that was close to him . give his disciples instructions and leave the Holy Ghost.

naw i find that He was tempted because rather than interpret its just whats there

matthew 4:1 "Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

and then of course He had to be because God doesnt Know temptation, Jesus does He just overcame the temtations in order to help us when tempted.

Hebrews 4:15 "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

so theres no need to change whats there , to me anyways He was tempted because He took on our fallen nature in order to overcome it for us.

what i find really interesting is what He said when temopted and what the devil did....Jesus " it is written....it is written....it is written......and the devil left Him....seems pretty wise since the sword of the spirit is the word to strike the enemy with it.

something i think some should accept about the written word, Jesus was full of the spirit......yet " it is written" was His defense....things that make ya think

didnt He also tell them this after He was risen?

matthew 28:18-20 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

seems like there was more than Just the cross, seems His teachings in the gospel were prettty important :)

yeah ive been working on that same prinicple i shared with you, again wanst meant to offend....just offer the idea.

but anyways does the gospel and obeying it fit into your explaination? if so id like to hear what you have to say, not really looking to be taught or teach anyone, just like to share and hear. so if you have time or would like id like to hear it if its not an explaination of why the gospel isnt for christians.

well i kind of Just believe the scripture is right and all of us are Just learning all the time......

but anyways God bless and its a good thing to consider How Jesus replied to temptation....it is written...it is written...it is written. even being the Son of God who was full of the holy Ghost. makes a person wonder about the new ideas of How the written word, isnt all that important, im not sure if you have encountered that...but i have lately. He is a good example for us to learn from and follow

Lol its all about how you like your cup of tea. I liked the HCSB translations but if you disagree with tulip dont pick up the study bible.lol.

I try to study to explain in the best I can in modern language because after all i figure to reach both young and old generation the modern language will give understanding to the young and the old

well doesnt God do His work through His word though? so maybe spreading the commands of Jesu has something to do eith it, to teach people they are supposed to obey God? since He does His work through His word.....seems theres some part on the believer to believe when He says " obey my commandments? seems obedience is something that gets left out of the finished works for some folks.....

yeah thats a good translation also, i think the kjv is close to my heart because of my grandmother. my first memory is her teaching me the Lords prayer in the kjv language, also i found it to be very accurate also, but she taught me alot when i was young and she was a kjv only woman lol she used to get on to me when i began studying the niv haha

but anyways brother, i appreciate your convo and insight as always God bless and Keep you in the Lord Jesus !!

yeah alot of folks are confused by the old english language i used to be also which is why i studied the niv for a long time. after college and alot of shakespear and old writings i picked up the language quite well and dont have to go look up definitions like i used to, it used to really slow me down, would have to read 2 or three times to get what it was saying.

cup of tea i guess lol

Jesus work was finished. Jesus paved the way. We all was on the wide 6 lane road to destruction. But Jesus paved an exit. A narrow road with many ups and downs but ultimately leads to eternal life.
His work was done in that sense.

Now the choice to take that exit is open to all who are living at this very moment. God calls us, we choose to believe or not, and the only thing God asks of us to do is remain faithful.

In another sense Gods work in his church and believers are not finished. Gods work in his believers wont be done until their last breath. Gods work in the church wont be threw until his set time arrives where the world starts to end.

yeah thats how i look at it He made the way home for the prodigal.....butr the prodigal has to repent and start walking home on the path :)
