If a Christian gets the former rain, will they also get the latter rain? If not, what will happen to that person when Christ returns?

What makes you think the former rain has anything to do with Christians?

What makes you think that latter rain has anything to do with Christians?

The former rain helps seeds germinate; however, without the latter rain, the crop blasts in the field.

I would think because rain represents the things of God, the doctrines of Godas the kind of spirit in us of Christ as living water springing up to eternal life.It is used along with other metaphors to represent doctrine pertaining to His ( dew, showers)

It would seem rain ( the pure water of the gospel) simply means; "doctrines of God" set apart from the "doctrines of men" which the doctrines of men would be represented by salt water. Salt pointing to judgment of God and not mercy and grace.

The former rain would be the Old testament doctrines used in ceremonial laws as shadows that pointing ahead to our suffering Savoir. Christ has come in the flesh

Deu 32:2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

I've never heard this expression.
It's in Joel 2:23 and Hosea 6:3.

In the Bible, it is simply speaking of the normal cycle of fall and spring rains. But, some have made these words into a weird doctrine........ as we men tend to do with just about anything we find in a book with a black cover.

Thank you. Yes, it sounds like a farming thing.

Willie, It is also talked about in James 5.7, I pasted the whole passage so context would be maintained...

Agreed, some like the Kansas City Prophets, led by Mike Bickle, made the latter rain to be part of the end of age great outpouring of the Spirit...I dont see that in James 5.7

James 5.7-11
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. [SUP]8 [/SUP]You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door. [SUP]10 [/SUP]As an example, brethren, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. [SUP]11 [/SUP]We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.
