Can anyone think of a scripture or scriptures where Jesus told someone NOT to go forth and witness about Him, that their time had not come or they were being 'held in reserve'?

Daniel was told not to share a vision he had, Jesus was not arrested at one point because His time had not come, but I can't think of any instance where someone was told NOT to go forth and testify of Him.

And yet that is EXACTLY the message I and someone else appear to be receiving from God. 99% of the time when a chance appears to do that very thing, the brick wall goes up and puts an IMMEDIATE stop to it. And every time I question it the answer is, your time has not come.

Is that Biblical?

Jeremiah 11:14
"Do not pray for this people or offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their distress."

this has a specific context, but you may find it useful to understand...

Isaiah 28
5 In that day shall the Lord of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Perhaps, that which you feel that someone needs, or is in need of? Is not required of your giving, or sharing with/to them by you, at this time et al. :)

Well Ricky...can empthasise as dont many woman know what its like to hit the glass ceiling?!

Thing is examine yourself...are you doing this on your own or do you have a partner in ministry? Even Paul had Silas and Baranabas, while they werent in the public eye all the time, they were steadfastly praying and supporting Paul. MOses had Aaron. JEsus had 12 disiciples he wasnt a lone ranger.

The walls of jericho came down when the people walked around them seven times praising God. HE can move the mountains. Keep praising Him.

No, sorry, not buying it.

God takes us out to farmville Minnesota, close to a well known Bible camp. But when they flooded last spring, God had me - been slinging sandbags all my life - twiddle my thumbs in California because it's not my time? No, not buying it. Sorry.

They just had the worst freeze in 50 years. Uncle Gary and Lucy sure could have used some help, maybe even a room. And God has me twiddling my thumbs in sunny California because it's not my time? No. Sorry. Not buying it.

I try to share my father's estate with others, and they overwhelmingly respond that they don't want it - because it's not my time? Sorry. No. Just not buying it.

I don't buy the "it's not my time" thing.

People have needs, God gave me the gifts to help them, and He stymies and stonewalls all that because it's "not my time"?

I hope you don't really buy that either.
