It happens on here all the time, so I am starting the tread so hopefully we can get the debate out of our systems(which i highly doubt)

What are reasons for celebrating certain holidays?
What are the reasons that celebrating holidays may be ok?

Also, provide scripture where it says it is ok to argue about it or judge someone because they choose to abstain or participate in certain holidays. (i betcha you won't find it)
I will address this part first : "Also, provide scripture where it says it is ok to argue about it or judge someone because they choose to abstain or participate in certain holidays." - it says not to.... in the New Covenant
with that being said...
I guess the real question is HOLY days versus Holidays... Some celebrate HOLY days and abstain from Holidays... while some consider their holidays to be HOLY...

I celebrate HOLY days, Holidays are very commercialized and secular and several of them have obvious pagan undertones. My HOLY days may not be yours, but thats between God and you... not me. The fact that I get a paid day off for secular holidays, even though I dont observe them, is a blessing. (I dont shy away from blessings ;) )

The spirit convicts us all differently as to what is the will of God. Oddly enough my biblical following of HOLY days tends to make non HOLY day (pure Holiday only people) upset, more than the other way around.
That perplexes me...

This is really very simple. God gave us many feast days/holidays. Somewhere along in history, do the research yourself I did, Christians considered anything Jewish as a bad thing & began adopting Pagan Holidays & Rituals. Just because you observe them with Christ's name attached doesn't make them ok. If you really love God you won't observe Pagan Holidays period. He is a jealous God. Why change the days he gave to Pagan days, trust me & his word He doesn't like it. PERIOD .......GOD BLESS & may he have MERCY on us all for perverting his Holy day.

Yet why did Paul say it was ok to eat meat sacrificed to idols if your conscience is clean?

Well I personally don't celebrate Christmas anymore. It sends the wrong messages. I celebrate Jesus's birthday in September. Observe biblical feast days because there is so much value in it for me as a family. Halloween I bend on because it's something me and my family like to do for fun. But we also give out tracks and witness for the Lord. All mean different things to me in Christ. So I don't judge . It's probably the same for others. The bible says judge for yourselves. And morally what is okay and what isn't . And what you do for enjoyment is another thing. What you believe is what God would want you to believe based on your spiritual life , spiritual responsiblity and personal relationship with Christ.

Where did Paul say this???
In 1 Corinthians 8:4-13, Paul clarifies the teaching on this subject. First, he says that eating meat offered to an idol is not immoral, because “an idol is nothing at all.” An idol is an inanimate object. “Food,” he says, “does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.” The meat itself is amoral. However, there is more to consider, namely the brother with a weak conscience. Some believers, especially those with a background of idol worship, were still very sensitive concerning this issue and considered it morally wrong to eat meat sacrificed to idols. Under no circumstances, Paul says, should a believer encourage another believer to violate his conscience. To the pure, all things are pure (Titus 1:15), but to one with a weak conscience, meat taken from pagan temples was spiritually defiled. It would be better never to eat meat again than to cause a believer to sin against his conscience.
