well I found what I was talking about and it is even worse then I remember...the posts are actually within this thread itself and not another.

"CharliRenee, post: 4200430, member: 208814"]My dad was an Assembly of God preacher/evangelist. My bio and Christ sister still speaks in tongues and she is a very reasonable, honest, and humble woman. I believe it is a gift but not given to all.

I now belong to a non denominational church. However, I would love to have this gift. I have asked for it. I believe the gift of tongues are still alive and well, but also believe that the gift isn't for everyone, every saved person. I do know of the verses that say they will be no longer but I do not believe it is yet. I do NOT know. Honestly, I can only imagine such a gift being a beautiful and amazing blessing post 264

here is my response to Charli post 320

"7seasrekeyed, post: 4200579, member: 260610"]I was alone when I prayed to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and immediately I did speak in tongues

right after my post to her, we have Roger saying this post 322

he is saying people have itching ears if they desire a certain gift from the Holy Spirit

then Roger posts this which you respond to in agreement...he is addressing laughtur regarding the Baptism with the Holy Spirit

"notuptome, post: 4197957, member: 162839"]No it's a charismatic Pentecostal doctrinal error. The Holy Spirit indwells the moment a soul receives Christ as Savior. but then you address Charli as well in a manner suggesting she is wrong in her pursuit...her prayer...go back and read it...I can't post every thing said and she responds as follows:

Yes, believe the Bible and what it states...
But remember, that all Paul´s letters were written to the believing churches in CHRIST...those who had heard the GOSPEL and had come to believe that JESUS is the savior. and had put their faith in HIM as the ONE who came forth from GOD and into the world..also remember, that all these letters were written as issues arose in the believing body, and that Paul did not write to anyone OUTSIDE the body.
How does believing in the Holy Spirit, the One He left for us, to help us, to bear witness, who gives assurance, reminds us of our Lord, take away from our Lord and Savior?

We see some of the works of the Spirit of God in 1 Cor 7-8.

Also But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Romans 8:11 NASB

Believing in the Holy Spirit doesn't take away from the truth of Jude 1:24-25 and 1 Corinthians 1:30-31
I think we all agree He is the way and that no one gets to the Father without Him.

I will go now. Thank you for your time.

Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus/Yeshua, if there was anything I said that was in error, please forgive me and lead me into proper understanding.

I will now shhhhhh, lol. I need the Holy Spirit to help me with that, BIG TIME, lol.

God Bless you.

you also tell her the diagram she posted is the yeast of men

you know, I could look at just about any one of your posts and find you trying to be the kingpin of knowledge of anything no matter what is posted

your response indicates you do not believe she is in correct in her desire

no doubt denial will follow

but since the 5 minute time limit for correcting a post is long past, anyone can go back and read what was written...who wrote it...and all responses as post numbers have been supplied

the histrionics that have evidenced discomfort with the subject matter are not the responsibility of any individual other than as previously indicated

in other words, somebody is living in their own little world

find the door and get out before you have a nervous breakdown

not trying to be funny

I would suggest that no one in this thread needs to respond to false accusations or the demands for impossible answers

but of course we are all free to respond as we will

no one should be demanding anything anyway

Btw, I would say I do not exactly agree with 7keysrekeyed. I do not think Paul says enough to conclude whether the one who speaks in tongues and interprets is equal to the one who prophecies. But we can conclude that he does not say that the one who prophecies is superior to the one who speaks in tongues and interprets. It's a fine distinction, I know. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues.

Jesus told His disciples that the greatest among them would be the servant of all. Paul's words are in line with that.

LOL!..I meant in the sense of comprehension...not actual prophecy

in other words, Paul's emphasis is on everyone understanding...of benefit to everyone because it is not an unknown language

that is how I meant it

Paul does actually indicate that speaking in the understanding is the better way

ie: 4 Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.

that's how I understand it anyway

I wanted to point out that this post was made before I asked miknik5 to ask people if she were engaging in the behaviors I described.

I think there is a danger that the thread could get derailed into a thread about how weird miknik5 has been acting, not admitting what she wrote, deflecting, accusing without basis, etc. If she can stop engaging in those behaviors, we can stop discussing that in this thread.

Simple stuff like, "I didn't mean that." or "Let me clarify that" without accusations can move a conversation forward. Not talking about you, of course.

yeah well

in a perfect world

I prefer not to say what I really think

speaking from a clinical observation and no I am not a snob but have both education and experience to know about some behaviors

sadly, the behavior is not going to stop without outside interference

this is not a counselling forum

anyway, the bottom line being this is now a fruitless and actually harmful so called discussion

and people can and will think whatever they want according to their own observations and interpretations

no doubt another thread of similar interest will spring up soon enough as the authors of such cannot deny their own leanings

Just so you don't get the wrong impression, I cannot say that I have ever seen this particular brand of nonsense and confusion on the previous threads I have joined in which you did not participate.

If you are married, feel free to share that post of mine with your husband. If not, maybe your parents or your roommate.
Who are you to imply that I need any other lord than the LORD

but I am going to go and find it...cause I do not like to make things up and say they are the truth ;)

I could be wrong...but I did say I thought you had indicated that
Yes good. I would appreciate that. Because you ARE wrong.

Pentecostals would probably not count me as a classical Pentecostal because I do not believe in the 'initial evidence doctrine'. But, be that as it may, if you allow that Pentecostals who have faith in Christ can be saved, your statement disproves the idea that 'the perfect' has come in I Corinthians, since we still know in part.
So glad that Paul goes on to explain this further that all who grow up into THE HEAD, are perfect, and will be able to identify and will not be swayed by false doctrines...they have grown up into their most holy faith, as it is directed fully and perfectly on...only...THE HEAD

I said no such thing.
Yes, you did...by saying that I should go to my husband or my parents, or some other sort of person that somehow should be over me, and should know better than me.
The fact is, that I know better than my husband, and better than my parents...
And I am way too old to have a roommate....

On this issue, you probably do not know better than your husband. Show him the thread and ask him. If he's prepared for the backlash, he may agree with us. You should submit to your husband.

And that doesn't mean I said you needed a 'lord.' I didn't know if you were married or not. If you weren't, it is not up to me that you get married. Telling you to show your husband or parents isn't the same as saying you need a lord. But you could probably use with some help from either party or parties on this issue.

We all need other believers in our lives. Hebrews 3:13 says to exhort one another daily lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

I disagree. But I think you might take this better from a husband, etc. so I recommended that. I suspect you have heard it before from others before me, though, which is probably why this strikes a nerve. I hope your husband hasn't let you bully him into silence.

The Bible says to exhort one another daily. I and others saw you had an area that needed exhortation and we gave it. You can despise Hebrews 3:13 to your own detriment.

You are full of opinions...and have no concern if what you say is not true...you do this when you offer your personal ideas, thoughts, assumptions, opinions of men(women)

Please refer again to the TRUTH that all are one in the BODY where there is no longer male or female...
You,sir are dividing and it is all based on my sex. You imply, because of my sex, that I have no understanding and need to be instructed by a male...

I don´t

You just don´t like a woman telling you that you are wrong, and it is easier for you to imply that it is because of my sex, that I am somehow confused and need a man to help me...that I can´t really know what I am talking about. But I know what I am talking about and GOD gives gifts to each and every one as HE sees fit...itś HIS BODY...and HE will give gifts even to a woman, regardless of their sex

I don´t
Would you have written that to me if I were a white man?

Just kidding. I'm white. But if you can play the sex card, why not the race card? This isn't about sexism. I don't like to see men behave like you are either. It is also false that I implied that because of your sex you have no understanding. I did not say you have no understanding. Do not put words into my mouth. It is obvious you will not make when you make a mistake, even a small one. Whether that is a comprehension/understanding issue or a character/honesty issue is not up to me.

You obviously have need to receive correction from others in the body of Christ, male and female. You could also take this thread to an older woman who teaches younger women and ask if you behaved yourself appropriately.

You have to decide whether you want to be a Bible-believing Christian who cares about the truth or a radical feminist. 'No male nor female' does not justify a wife no longer submitting to her husband any more than it justifies men marrying men or women marrying women or transgender operations. Paul probably wrote 'no male nor female' before he wrote I Corinthians where he told wives if they had questions to ask their husbands at home and Ephesians where he tells wives to submit to their husbands. I know some women, influenced by the evil philosophies of this age have difficulty with the idea of asking their husbands questions or submitting to them. They think they know better than their husbands.

You just don´t like a woman telling you that you are wrong, and it is easier for you to imply that it is because of my sex, that I am somehow confused and can´t know what I am talking about.
I brought up your husband originally not because of submission issues or because you are a woman. Plenty of married women, and single women, for that matter, can admit when they are wrong and don't go loggerheads over nothing, and don't accuse when they are shown to be wrong. I don't mind if one of these tells me if I am wrong. Even if I censorious or obnoxious woman tells me I am wrong, if I am wrong, I would generally own up to it.

I brought up your husband because I suspect if you act like this here, you probably act like that with him and it probably effects all other areas of your life. Maybe our fellow poster is right and this topic is just a trigger. I suspect not.

But people who think they are right about everything, even when there is an error in black in white right in front of them and they won't admit it probably think they are right about everything-- in perfect submission to her husband for example. Why don't you discuss this with your husband. That's my advice. We can also drop this conversation. Just consider what I say. If you go ballistic when told you are wrong about some little thing, I can imagine you would not want to bring this up to your husband.

That's fine with me. I can comment on your posts and possibly prevent someone else from being confused without your endless responses and strange accusation and super-spiritual inuendo.

But it would be good if you take my advice about asking others for your own benefit, not for mine.

What an absurd statement. Of course we know in part, we are never able to know all that is to be known in this body. The perfect is the completed bible which is sufficient to supply all we need to minister to the Lord and be witnesses to the lost.

To have all knowledge would be to make claim to being equal to God. Even Pentecostals must admit that is not possible nor the intent of knowledge.

I assume that Pentecostals are saved but have been birthed in the thorns and unless they come out they will never attain maturity in Christ. Mat 13 parable of the sower.

Worse for you perhaps. An admonition to cling to bible truth and avoid the thorn patch of Pentecostalism is not only good but mandated by Christ.

Your bragging about praying in tongues is not a good thing as it is never taught in scripture.
