It seems we have arrived at an important point in that Jesus didn't defend himself. Isn't it funny how often times we defend out of a sense of getting justice for ourselves Like if someone doesn't park their car right or someone cuts us off in traffic. We are so often unable to just accept things for the way they are and find peace in each and every circumstance.

"Circumstances don't make the man but they reveal the man to himself"....but the man has to be willing to see what it is in him that they are revealing.

Lol! I knew you were a road rager...lol. I ask myself when I become defensive if there is something true about my character that is being revealed to me. Quoting scripture and knowing scripture is only half of it. The other half is putting ourselves out there to allow God to give us opportunity to exercise our spiritual muscles.

Im a huge activist for certain things such as my children, and issues like homeschooling, homebirthing and things for which legislation needs to change to make things better, IE vaccination schedules for kids to start school, but i digress.

As passionate as we get about what we're fighting for I often time forget my goal, and keep on just for the fact that i know im right. Sometimes that's ok, but if i lose the audience in the meantime the topic ceases to lose importance.......

It is for me at times as well. Sometimes I'm too busy thinking about myself and what I wanna say. One thing that has helped me shut up when I need to is working with the public and having to put my best foot forward. Nobody hires a pariah...lol. I think if we can let go of the desire to be heard and or significant it opens up a whole new world where God can work. We just have to get our egotistical selves outa His way.

Side note....my pastor told me that generosity is a gift to us. It is good for our soul. Being generous with our time, our things and forgiveness is vitamins to our soul.

Sometimes I wonder if certain individuals around here believe that God has the power to do anything but be a bystander while they save wayward souls.

This is so true.

What is also very true is one tends to read in ones own understanding to peoples words. Jason seems to believe OSAS causes people to sin, and if they did not have the security of OSAS they would be good deciples.

Now to quote a suicide because some nut uses OSAS as his verbal excuse does not understand hurt and suicidal tendencies.
Now I know mental illness, I have spoken to people wrapped up in it, seen people be destroyed trying to minister to people with it, and it has nothing to do with anything like doctrine or belief.

It is also naive to think obedience to the Lord is anything to do with law keeping. This is pure legalism.
My best analogy is meeting my daughter after school. I run up to her, swing her around because the book I read says I have to do it for 30 seconds or I am sinning, failing as a parent. No I do it because it is my expression of joy and love towards this young person. (I am not allowed to do this to her at 16, I am usually disowned as unworthy now, lol)

Now so many christians are emotionally naive, when Jesus is flooding the world with "I love you" unto death, in the hardest place, anyone whose heart stays cold has never met Him. So all these disputes always show something unexpected.

I always wait until the chips are really down before drawing conclusions.

OSAS is a way of expressing the overwhelming love shown to needy insecure people, and in the eternal perspective of the kingdom, it is 100% true, but we will never really know, just the shadow. What I would always look to is David and Bathesheba, murder, adultery and forgiveness.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the story of David and bathesheba. Really studying that story we find sin yes,but the repentance, sorrow and forgiveness is overwhelming to me. bathesheba miscarried, but was an incredible wife after she and david came together. This story and these people are many examples of how we can royal screw up and God's grace is sufficient

me too. Where in the bible does God use someone whose got it all going on besides Jesus? It's just not there. God uses the weak to reveal His love, strength, glory and justice.
