As the mother of a toddler I am learning that a child with a VERY active imagination will ask me every five minutes to come see "something scary". After dinner at family friend's house during which ghosts were discussed my daughter began putting a name to these "scary" things. She has had her imaginary friends for the last several weeks (something that is very normal and even encouraging for a child her age), so I don't doubt the possibility it's all made up for the creative sensationalism of a child's mind. However, it does beg the question... Is there a possibility children can see supernatural things in their innocence that we can't? I mean beyond the existence of God, spirits, demons, the devil, angels, cherubims, armies of the Lord, etc. Greek mythology, as gross as it often is, is a fascinating study... but most of it is just crockery. I'm talking about actual ghosts and spirits that so often are sworn to exist. What in the Bible clearly states that these supernaturals do not exist on earth.
Ghosts: Highly unlikely since a soul is not given the option in the Bible of going anywhere but its respective place either with God or separated from God.
Spirits: Very possible. We all have our moments where we know a guardian angel must have been working on our behalfs.

Yes, there are always the three possibilities. Made up, real, and just trying to get mommy's attention. All are well-documented.

Where did God say that evil spirits don't exist on earth?

Spirits of deceased people do not roam the earth rather after death the spirit goes to either heaven or hell. So those "ghosts" are either figment of the child's imagination or Satan and demons' handwork.

What he said, Owen... as far as the spirits of the deceased sticking around. The spirit of Lazarus was not sent back to Earth. However, it is believed that in the last days two prophets of old will return. There are demons which are obviously evil... and they are usually from the spirit world.

Yes, it is normal for children to have a vivid and active imagination. As a child zi can recall seeing clothes hanging up in the closet and thinking they might be robots and I even became afraid. A young girl might love to have an imaginary teq party and talk to her imaginary guests. This is perfectly normal.

This is something else that does occur called "invisible friend" which is supernatural. This phenomena is well known in paranormal circles and deliverance circles. In paranormal circles, it is considered to be the spirit of a human or an entity. In deliverance it is only considered to be a demon.

If you are a Christian and you think this might be a demon pretending to be a friend, there is a simple prayer you can pray that will stop this on the spot. Once you pray this prayer and the behavior continues then it is probably her imagination. If her invisible friend suddenly disappears, then you know beyond the shadow of a doubt, that it is a demon.

Here is the prayer you can pray. It must be prayed out loud and done daily. Here it is:

"I separate and isolate my daughter/son, (name) from the realm of the demonic for the next 24 hours, in Jesus name. I forbid this demon from communicating with my daughter/son, (name) in external speech, internal speech or enter his/her dreams, in Jesus name. I forbid a demon to appear in any form or in my child's mind, in Jesus name.

Lord Jesus, I ask that You would send Your angels to protect my child from this invisible friend for the next 24 hours, if it be Your will. In Jesus name"

You can do this purely as an experiment and see what happens. Let us know how it goes.
