Figuratively, a Golden Calf eventually becomes a bull.

This may be off but i think partly it is because of accessability. On passover thousands of lambs were slain and roasted, and consumed.
Now,did Jesus point to the sacrificial lamb?
I would say no.
The lamb pointed to Jesus.
I also think the lamb had to be brought into the house for several days prior to the passover.
" he lived among us then was slain"
But if you go back to creation, we can see purpose in the creation of sheep/ lambs.
His sacrifice was from the foundation of the world.
I hit all around your question without hitting the mark, but God will show you the real answer

In Rom 8:3 and 2 Cor 5:21 we are told that Jesus is a sin offering. In Leviticus we are told that the sacrifice for sin offerings is goats and bulls. The sacrifice for a guilt offering is a Ram or Lamb. So, why is Jesus called the Lamb of God?
Because that's what the Hebrews had to kill and use it's blood on their doors on the night of the first Passover when the angel of death came into the land of Egypt to end the life of every first born person in each household in Egypt.. The angel of death would pass over each house that had the blood of a lamb covering their household.. If the household did not have the blood of a lamb the angel would go in and take the life of the first born in that household..

The Blood of the sacrificed Lamb of God covers all who have accepted the sacrifice of Jesus to cover their sins and therefore on the day of judgement the angels will not cast them into the eternal lake of fire but will pass over them and they shall have eternal life..

Jesus was executed on the day of Passover.. He was the Lamb of God for all whom would/will believe Him..

ISA. 53:10 Yet it pleased The LORD to bruise him; He has put him to grief: when you shalt make his soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of The LORD shall prosper in His hand.

ISA.,. 53. - clearly a chapter about the 'sacrifice of Christ' - the word 'offering', is Strong's H-817' rendered Asham,
which is rendered over and over in Lev. as a 'trespass offering', - and the offering is an offering of a
'lamb or a Ram' - personally, we prefer LAMB, but He is the Ram of God also, and is fulfilling so many more
'prophetic roles than this...
It is a prophecy of Christ in every Concordance/Writing, and my KJV that I have ever read.......who would doubt it?

53:1) Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

2For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see hisseed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Every verse SCREAMS Christ the Lord

Guys, can I just say that I wasn’t asking why christ was called the lamb of God, I was asking why he wasn’t called the bull of God or the goat of God, since he was a sin offering and these animals, not lambs, are the substitutes in a sin offering. But, I actually answered my own question a few posts back, but that was thanks to all your helpful posts. So thank you all!

what we hope that most people will come to realize, is that Christ FULFILLS
EVERY Levitical Offering...
